About this listen
Things that awaken my inner rage monster (in no particular order):
*The F-nugget who thought it would be fun to try to kidnap me. Throwing me in a trunk? Rude!
*My oldest brother - For insisting I need constant babysitters since I’m in danger. Oops! Did I say babysitters? I meant bodyguards.
*Same brother again - For having a ridiculously hot best friend, then assigning him as my primary bodyguard and telepathically forbidding him from dating me, even though I’m starting to suspect that he’s seriously crushing on me. (The best friend is crushing, not my brother. Don't be weird.)
*My brother’s best friend (i.e.: my new bodyguard) - For having a jaw so chiseled it could probably slice through a huge block of aged cheddar, and yet, not letting me lick it. (His jaw, not the cheddar. Now you’re waking up my rage monster.)
*My bodyguard’s stupid rules - For forbidding me from flirting with him, touching him more than necessary, and kissing him again. Even though he started it!
*Wine - For having calories.
*My ex-husband - For breathing.
*The law - For prohibiting st*bbing.
*My heart and bodyguard - Both for making me fall in love again… the audacity!
Forbidden Hero is a bodyguard romantic suspense with romcom vibes. It's written in alternating first person point of view and contains steamy open-door scenes, profanity, a strong heroine with mild anger issues due to her bumpy past, a hero who will make you laugh one minute and swoon the next (especially when he helps her reclaim her body). There's heart-pumping action and all the feels, along with a healthy dose of humor and spice.
Author's Note: Forbidden Hero is book 2 in the Redleg Security Series. Although it can be listened to on its own, but there are suspense-related spoilers if you listen out of order. The audiobook is narrated by Robert Hatchet and CJ Bloom.

Amazing
This is a brilliant storyline. There’s so much action to keep you hooked. These characters are well written and loveable. There’s a great level of humour that really makes this book great. A fantastic performance from both narrators.

Entertaining!
This is the second book in the Redleg Security Series, a Romantic Suspense. I like this series. Sammy and Sawyer's story is entertaining, fast-paced, and action packed. The world building is captivating. Robert Hatchet and CJ Bloom did an excellent job bringing these characters, and this story to life. I enjoyed it. Looking forward to listening to Comeback Hero, the next book in the series.

Loving this amazing romantic suspense series!
Nobody does romantic suspense like Jackie Walker. I love this series, and each book is just as good as the last! This one features Sawyer and Sammie and boy is their romance sizzling! But there is so much more to them than just chemistry! Sammie is Sawyer's best friend Leo's sister. That right there is enough for him to back off. But when she is now being guarded by Redleg Security since she is in danger, and it just seems to keep coming. Sawyer jumps at the chance to be with Sammie, though he knows nothing can come of it. Sammie is working through her past, her present and her always popping up anger. Can Sawyer fit into any of that? Well, as danger lurks, feelings spike and as feelings spike, well, I knew it couldn't be long before they finally give in. But with that being said, can Sawyer protect Sammie now that his feelings are exposed? And what will Leo say? I was completely immersed in this story. The danger is real, and Sammie keeps stepping right into it. The question is, who is it and why? I was guessing the whole time! Sawyer is that over protective man, but willing to give Sammie whatever she needs to feel safe. I loved this couple, the story, the chance to see Sue and Leo and meeting more of the team. It's fun, family, passion and suspense. Bring on more, I can't wait!
And the narration. I can't even begin to say how good it is. Robert Hatchet...what a talent! He brings out so many fun voices as Sawyer, always bringing a joke. He is amazing and keeps the story fresh and moving. Sammie is a tough woman with so many layers and CJ Bloom peels each one away, giving so much to the tough, yet vulnerable woman. Loved this team, it could not have been better cast.

So Enjoyable!
Jackie Walker does it again in this friends-to-lovers, forbidden romance!
Forbidden Hero is the second book in the Redleg Security series, and is a friends-to-lovers, forbidden romance. This time we are reintroduced to Sawyer and Sammy. We first meet both of them in the first book; Sammy’s brother is Leo who is best friends with Sawyer. Leo previously saved Sawyer's life in the past so he really shouldn't want Sammy. This, combined with some information we find out about Sammy in the first book makes their romance complicated and forbidden. They try their hardest to stop their feelings. But the heart wants what the heart wants.
This book was just such a good book and so lovely to read/listen to. After reading the first book late last year, I was looking forward to picking this up and diving into Sawyer and Sammy’s story. I was definitely not disappointed! I loved so much about this book, from the chemistry of our love interests, to how the protective Sawyer was. Having been through a lot in her life especially in the past few years, Sammy is recovering and is getting therapy. I really enjoyed Sammy’s character. She was so strong, and even with all that she had been through, she was taking control of her mental health. I also loved how Sawyer was there for her physical and emotionally, and was protective of her whilst also understanding her need for independence. I really loved their dynamic.
So much of it was enjoyable to me. I also really liked how the harder topics was handled here. It was interesting to see Sammy in the actual therapy sessions. It was also really nice seeing all the supporting characters from the first book back, and I loved the whole found family aspects of the book.
This was such a cute romance. It was heartfelt, and had the right amount fun and banter, whilst also tackling the much heavier topics. Overall, this was soo good, and I’m happy I picked it up. I will definitely be continuing on in the series.
Narrated by Robert Hatchet and CJ Bloom. They both were amazing. Bloom was fantastic at delivering the strong, yet emotional characteristics of Sammy. Whilst Hatchet did amazing with the portrayal of the protective, yet caring, man that was Sawyer. Together, they were truly superb, and were able to bring the story and characters to life! I highly recommend!

Intense
What an intense, suspenseful romance. This was such a gripping & fast paced, high stakes romance, full of trauma, healing, heartbreak, & rage.
Sammy is healing from some intense trauma, what she does not expect is those squishy/butterfly feelings.
Sawyer has had feelings for Sammy for years, but he’s kept those feelings locked up tight, but will he finally be pushed to confront those feelings? Will he act on them?
This was full of epic banter, found family, brothers in arms, chemistry, spice, & healing from trauma together.
Narrated by CJ Bloom & Robert Hatchet. They both did an absolutely phenomenal job bringing all of the various characters to life, bringing the emotions out, and giving each character their own voice & depth.

Sammy & Sawyer
Sammy and Sawyer were so good! I loved Sammy’s personality. She’s sassy and funny and so much like me. Sawyer was a bit too full on at times for me but that did not put me off as his personality is what makes him such a great person. The circumstances that brought them together are not the best but they make the most of it in their own sarcastic way. Sawyer was just so perfect in giving Sammy all the tools she needed to regain her self confidence in the bedroom.
Robert Hatchett and CJ Bloom delivered an amazing performance as Sawyer and Sammy. Jackie’s writing is phenomenal but Robert and CJ truly made this audiobook.

Amazing audiobook witty,smart and brilliant
Another addictive audiobook from Jackie Walker and book 2 in the Redleg security series were these protective men find their perfect women.
Forbidden Hero is a friends to lovers/forbidden romance as Sammy is the little sister of Leo,Sawyers best friend...A friend who saved Sawyer's life in the past so he shouldn't want Sammy.
But you can't control who your heart wants..
Sammy has been through alot in her life and suffers from PTSD which she is having therapy for to help with the trauma.
I admired Sammy she is so strong and is taking control of her mental health by not wanting what happened to her define her.
But she has become paranoid that someone is following her and this is were Sawyer comes into the mix..Sawyer is adorable you won't be able to resist falling in love with him.
He is very protective but also knows when to let Sammy take control,he is not afraid to submit.
They are a perfect fit together they are hot and steamy and the banter between them is a delight to listen too..There are some funny sweet moments.
The dialogue between them is so witty and fun,Jackie Walker sure has some hilarious writing and I loved it...I also loved that the characters spoke to the reader sometimes I found that endearing and like you were part of the story.
C.J Bloom and Robert Hatchett are excellent narrating this book, they were brilliant acting out these characters. They both had the right emotions to express what the characters are saying and I really enjoyed their voices and hearing them tell me this story...Their comedy timing when neccessary was just perfect..They are Brilliant !
Jackie Walker has written such a wonderful book that kept me entertained throughout the whole story. Its full of everything you want in a funny, witty, thrilling, and sexy romance.
I loved it.

Even better as an audiobook
Jackie Walker brought an amazing theme of trauma healing and self acceptance into this romance. Sawyer and Sammy had some trauma before crossing romantically. They each worked on themselves, and the result is a super steamy, super sweet HEA. CJ Bloom and Robert Hatchet add another layer of fabulous to this great story. I didn't realize I could love it more than I did the first time.

Enjoyable Listen!
I love a good protector/security romance!! This was my first book by this author and I found this to be a very enjoyable listen with a great cast of characters. Sawyer and Sammy were both very likable characters but I did have some struggles with Sammy being so self centered. Overall, this had a great storyline, characters, fun banter, and well written spice. I was impressed with how therapy was so normal and a much needed element of Sammy working through her past trauma and moving forward. Sawyer was swoon-worthy book boyfriend - he was gentle and so caring with always checking in with Sammy to make sure his actions were ok. I will definitely be looking to more books from this author.
CJ Bloom and Robert Hatchet were the cherry on top of this listen! I loved them together and Robert Hatchet was just perfect for Sawyer. Both delivered great performances and enhanced my listening experience.
