Good story but bad pronunciations & Americanisms!
I love the storylines and characters in these books but do find the conversations a little stilted however, that may be the fault of the narrator. I have only persevered with the series as the stories are entertaining.
Finally, with one book to go, I have to take issue with the narrator and his dreadful pronunciations of some towns particularly PorthmaDOC (incorrect emphasis on DOC) & Leominster (actually pronunced Lemster) I now find myself dreading the mention of these towns because I know I'm going to find it so annoying and disrespectful to the population of those towns. I'm amazed that these haven't been corrected at all, are the narrations not checked?
My other issue is with some of the American terminology and pronunciations used in a book where the whole story is based in a lovely but not well known area of the UK, Examples are pronunciations of 'status, aluminium, data'.
Some of the terms used such as:
National Crime Investigations Service (NCIS) which is actually called the National Crime Agency (NCA) in the UK.
Pants (US) we call trousers.
Bank Teller (US) we call Bank Cashiers (I speak from being a Bank Cashier for many years)
Closets (US) we call cupboards
Handicapped Parking....that term, quite rightly, went out of use many years ago and is now Disabled Parking
Elevator (US) we call Lifts.
It may seem to be nit picking but I'm sure that someone living in the US would find the use of England terms confusing too!
Imagine what a US citizen would make of the words ie pavement and trousers in a book based in their small town.
I appreciate that these books are read worldwide but surely the characters would use the terms and words that were used in their own country? Overall, the story lines are good but oh so spoilt by the narrator. I will check and avoid any more books where he is the narrator, sorry!

Evan Blessed
This one is a very personal one for Evan and Bronwyn, with the high of the summer and Wales is filled with tourists, Evan is run off his feet with missing persons, and Bronwyn is busy setting up their new home and getting their wedding pains all in place. Brilliantly told story, and read with great emission by Roger Clark.

Another great episode!
I love the Evan Evans series and am just getting a little anxious that it might be drawing to a close! How will I manage without Roger Clark’s dulcet tones and the deepening mysteries? As ever, a clever title with a convoluted storyline that never gets boring. I hope it carries on further than the one left to download! I’ll just have to listen all over again!!

Magnetic and absorbing
As always from beginning to the end because of the well known setting of all chapters ensuring that intrigue remains
