About this listen

Alpha Team Battles Its Greatest Nemesis

With Juice in heavy contact on the do-or-die shore mission, Ali in a blistering sniper duel over the South Atlantic, and Homer all alone and massively outnumbered deep beneath the keel of the JFK, the Alpha operators are in the fight of their lives - against tactically outstanding, pain-invulnerable, and utterly merciless Spetsnaz commandos and with no guarantees about who will be left standing at the end....

The JFK Clings to Survival

Perilously low on ammo, fuel, planes, pilots, and options, and seemingly outmaneuvered at every turn, the beleaguered John F. Kennedy engages in a lethal game of cat and mouse with the gigantic and weapons-bristling Russian battlecruiser - with not just their lives on the line but the lives of everyone on the planet....

One Troop Fights Furiously to Hold the Center

As London comes under unrelenting siege, Jameson and the Royal Marines face down a lightning-fast and terrifyingly uncontrolled outbreak in CentCom's Strategic Command Center - the beating heart of humanity's last defenses against the dead - and with no one but them standing in the way of total collapse and utter devastation....

The greatest zombie series I've ever read, really gripping! The action is very vivid and you grow really attached to the characters, can't recommend enough.

What did you like most about Empire of the Dead?

This anthology never loses pace it is a fantastic zombie series. Full of bad ass characters and plenty of geeky references.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Empire of the Dead?

Underwater battles with the Spetznaz. Wow!

What does R. C. Bray bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

The narrator is great, every character sounds unique and his voice is easy to listen to.

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Shock and awe.

Love the series so far, still gripping 8 books in, fantastic detail on the warfare side and special forces.

Best zombie series yet, love the story line

This book breaks the pattern so far with the main antagonist no longer (at least for this story) being the dead but the Russian navy and their attack dogs of the Spetsnaz.

Plus the crew of the JFK have an internal problem to contend with. Meanwhile the Brits have their hands full with their zombies, while a well-loved character gets a deserved promotion. And we get an explanation for the outbreak.

I love this book and the new direction it takes the story in. As always the action is fast paced and though there are deaths the authors don't linger on scenes of violence like some other authors do. You know who the good guys are and the authors let you root for them.

Once again, brilliantly narrated. All in all, well worth it.

The Last Ship meets the Walking Dead

As ever this is exciting and fun. If you like good converging storylines and military arse kicking, this series is for you. Oh and there are lots and lots of zombies.
