About this listen
They thought they were safer on the ground... they were wrong.
Immediately picking up after the events of 2023's Horizon, and it's 2024 prequel 'Ransome', a battle of revenge, revelations, and survival comes into play between Roman Knight, Drusilla and Harry Ransome; a man who should have been dead over 150 years ago.
But with everyone so worried about the ravenous creatures above them in the darkness of space, they fail to realise that something far deadlier lurks beneath the ice. Something which has kept Harry Ransome alive all this time. Something sentient. Something which has been growing for centuries.
And now, it wants to evolve... and it's hungry.

Outstanding!
Ok, you might enjoy some aspects of this book if you haven't read the previous two, but it won't make much sense unless you have. Horizon and Ransome are a must read as Emergence is the convergence of the previous books (not surprising as it is a series!)
There is a lot of violence, blood and horror. Alas, it all makes sense and is inevitable given the narrative. I'm not one who enjoys gore for the sake of gore but, given a justified context, it's fine, necessary even ...
All the mysteries and seemingly clashing storylines in the previous two books come together and explain the jumping timelines we've come to expect in this series.
A thoroughly well thought out, though convoluted path (paths even!) all lead to the inevitable finale.
An excellent read that I highly recommend to all avid Sci-Fi readers.
I enjoyed the Audible version and also highly commend Brandon J. Peterson for his voicing of the characters, 5⭐!
