About this listen

Theories that thrill... Realities that kill... A ticking clock...

When an esteemed criminology professor is found lifeless at an international conference, it's up to DCI Whitney Walker and forensic psychologist Dr. Georgina Cavendish to unravel the mystery.

The professor had unveiled Death's Shadow—a ground-breaking but unsettling theory that could redefine the understanding of serial killers. The theory captivated yet unnerved scholars, leaving a lingering air of dread within the conference halls.

When another delegate meets a gruesome end, it becomes horrifyingly clear: the conference has become a hunting ground. Is Death's Shadow serving as a blueprint for a real-life killer, or has the professor's intellectual arrogance unwittingly unleashed a monster?

Time is running out. As the conference draws to a close, Cavendish & Walker must decode a mind warped by twisted logic. Lives hang in the balance—can they crack the case before Death's Shadow strikes again?

I almost feel that if you've listened to one in the series, you've listened to them all. The rediculousness of George's role in each and every crime is getting a bit beyond belief. Narration is fine, but having listened to the whole series, I am not sure I will buy any more..

Formulaic.

I'm surprised there are any people left in Lenchester! Too many serial killers there! Hope there will be another.

Another great tale

I started reading Sally Rigby when she based one of her books in Market Harborough. Since then I’ve read nearly every book she has written. I love the characters, the story itself. They not too heavy but enjoyable to listen to. Keep them coming!

Great story

I have now listened to all (13) the Cavendish and Walker books and also the Sabastion Clifford series and thoroughly enjoyed them all I feel that I know all the characters personally and have enjoyed following their personal lives Claire Corbett is a excellent narrator bringing all the characters to life I feel that a good narrator is very important and Claire ticks all the boxes
I am now at a position of having to start a new series and going to start the Cornwall series I am pleased that Claire is narrating these too but I’m going to miss the ones I’ve come to know I hope it’s not too long before they return
Thank you Sally and Claire

Another brilliant book in this series, gripped from start to finish! Can’t wait for the next instalment

Another amazing book

there was a bit more than moderate use of repetitive language and clichés in the first half, which just came out of nowhere. without context from book 12, it was a bit hard to digest. the second half was more reminiscent of the author's style from books 1-12 of the Cavendish and Walker series, and was quite enjoyable!

the performance as always was excellent! the story was laid out in quite an interesting way!
