Major Robert Kurland has returned to the quiet vistas of Kurland St. Mary to recuperate from the horrors of Waterloo. However injured his body may be, his mind is as active as ever. And in a place where no one locks their doors, a series of thefts and the disappearance of two young serving girls demands explanation....

What a breath of fresh air! Not my usual pick of book but I loved every minute of it. Great characters and story . The icing on the cake; it was narrated by Susannah Tyrrell...... absolutely brilliant.

Storyline is good but I couldn't take the narration any longer unfortunately gave it a good go but just couldn't see it through to the end. Got to chapter 13 but it really started to grate on my nerves I'm sorry to say.
