About this listen

A Chronicles of St Mary's short story that is sure to entertain. If you love Jasper Fforde or Ben Aaronovitch, you won't be able to resist Jodi Taylor.

The First Farrell Family Christmas.

Max, Leon and Matthew - together at last for Christmas at St Mary's - a time of conspicuous consumption, riotous misbehaviour and the traditional illegal Christmas jump. And this time, it's inter-generational.

Donning her unfamiliar mother hat, Max takes Matthew back to 19th century London, where they plan to deliver a parcel of Christmas cheer to his former friends, but find themselves confronting the terrifying Old Ma Scrope in the process.

'Tis the season to be jolly.

It's also the season of goodwill towards all mankind.

Pity no one told Max.

Another great Christmas treat from Jodi Taylor. Max and the disaster magnets of St Mary's barge into trouble yet again.

She did it again!!!!!!

Thank you...I couldn't bear it. Brilliant, as usual! The St Mary's books are superbly evocative and Max is my hero.

Great story. Very descriptive but not in a way that bogs you down. Just seemed to make the whole story real

Brilliant

This is definitely my favourite series of fiction. It is written with so much humour and multidimensional characters, all brought to life by exemplary narration of Zara Ramm.
Highly recommended for anyone, especially fans of history, science fiction or just humour.

Great as always

A nice little stand alone story, but best kept until you’re well in to the series as it has more than a few spoilers/hints to wrestle with.

Nicely avoids any Christmas Carol similarities

A lovely mother/son bonding tale. Maxwell takes Max ‘home’ for Christmas - minus the danger magnets - and disobeys every rule! What could possibly go wrong?

This is lovely (& heartwarming)

What a lovely story. Full of happy outcomes, must read it again at Christmas time.

Heartwarming (must admit, I had to blink away a tear or two. Must be the weather or so), funny and entertaining.
