Welcome to Stark Springs, Colorado, home to the most talented young athletes in the world. When Roxie Slade snaps into a pair of skis, there’s no one on Sugarville Mountain in Vermont who can keep up with her. Not even the boys. Still, Roxie was shocked when she received a scholarship to Stark Springs Academy, a boarding school that churns out Olympians in each graduating class.

Entering as a high school junior, Roxie can’t wait to learn from renowned coaches and train with the fastest ski racers from all over the globe. But upon arrival, Roxie discovers that Stark Springs lives under its own set of rules, and it appears one boy plays dictator. Ryker Black is not friendly and Roxie cannot fathom why everyone wants to be his friend. Sure, he’s gorgeous and rides a snowboard like it’s his fifth limb, but he’s cold, ruthless, and holds way too much power over the Stark Springs population. Roxie won’t put up with it. She’s here to train, and she doesn’t care about impressing anyone off the slopes.

The only problem? Ryker Black doesn’t permit defiance. Not without consequences.

It took me some time to get used to Leanne's style of narration, but ultimately, I enjoyed it.
Her range of characters was impressive and the accents were decent.

Having loved and enjoyed Ali's sports infused stories, I was ready to see her take on skiing, snowboarding—and any other winter sports that were thrown in the mix.
What I wasn't ready for was Ryker or the posse (aka Mean girls on steroids).
I was absolutely gobsmacked by their catty vendetta, and better than you attitude.

I really enjoyed Roxie's character. Her strength and resilience, her fight for what was right—and ultimately—not settling for less than what she deserved were all part of her charm.

Ryker, while not my favourite person (to begin with) slowly grew on me.
I'm looking forward to seeing how their relationship develops.

When Roxie receives a scholarship at Spark Springs Academy, a boarding school which helps students train for winter sports, she is equally nervous and excited. When she arrives, she finds herself on the outside looking in as most of the students have been together for years and she doesn’t understand the power that Ryker, one of the students seems to have.

Ryker is intrigued by Roxie and invites her to join his “posse”, the popular group of friends however Roxie declines. In doing so she has only intrigued Ryker more and attracted the negative attention of those in his group which only makes the situation more difficult especially when they develop feelings for each other.

This is the beginning of Ryker and Roxie's story and I am looking forward to seeing where their relationship goes. I thought the narrator did a wonderful job of bringing the characters and the story to life. 🎧 Audiobook Obsession

Roxie thought she was just going to one of the best schools for skiing, what she did not know was this was a place like she never imagined. She must follow the rules set up by Ryker or face the consequences that he set forth. This book is full of drama.

This bully to friends has a different spin on it with everyone being to competitive it has lots of fireworks. Good characters with a solid storyline. Excellent performance from Leanne.
