the new narrator is nowhere near as good as in the previous books,still epic though.

I’ve been listening to these from book 1 and absolutely loved these and loved the story developing within. Until this set. The narrator has changed and I’m sorry to say it has completely ruined these books for me. The narration in these is absolutely terrible. After listening to 12 books with the same great narrator and getting used to each character and how they sound everything has totally changed. One of the characters has lost his accent and the rest now all sound the same. Shame as it really detracts from fantastic story

I really struggled to get into this box set because the narrator had been changed leaving all the characters with different accents and I really think the previous narrator had captured the personalities of all the characters so was a bit of a struggle to get into this set.

The change in narrator spoils the book for me. The plot is fantastic but due to such a different style in narrating it's a let down compared to the previous books. If this was the narrator from the start I would not have gotten so far into the series.

I don’t even know where to start…
Books 1-12 got progressively worse but at least the old narrator (who was also American!) could provide accents for each person so you knew who was talking - even if one of the settlements spoke in a Scottish accent when everyone else apparently had American accents which would be unusual given the books are set in the UK!

I wish I’d left it there as the story could have easily ended there and my imagination made up a far better end than the author did in books 13-15 (I absolutely won’t be buying the final 3!).

This narrator sounds like a high school teacher reading it out in his garage. All the characters have changed their personas and voice and he doesn’t know how to pronounce words properly (even by American standards which are often wrong anyway). Seriously, he has poor Olga carrying plates in the hair!!! (FYI plaits are pronounced plats)

The terrible narration could be tolerated if it at least was telling a decent story. Honestly, I can fall asleep or tune out and when I start to relisten, the story hasn’t moved on (as so much ridiculous repetitive detail) or the 3 storylines are so similar, you can’t work out which one you’ve woken to as they are all just firing at the diseased. Just how many times do we need to have the gory detail of shooting a diseased explained? And I think we’ve got the message they smell of vinegar and have blood pouring from their eyes (from the first box set actually and every paragraph ever since!)

At this stage, I have no idea if I will even finish this box set. I’m on book 15 and barely listening anymore. I just had to listen long enough to allow me to leave this review to say if you haven’t downloaded it yet, save your credit/money as it’s truly awful.

enjoyed the first few books but it seems to be repeating storyline over again. I just can't listen the new narrator any longer the characters have changed so much because off it otherwise I would have probably finished the books

From books 1-12 I mixed it up by reading them and listening to the audiobook. It's a simple narrative that made for easy reading/listening. I should have read the reviews for this audiobook before downloading it though. The previous 12 books had a narrator that I could get into the story with. No disrespect to this narrator, but the tinny and whiney voice that has a lack of depth to the characters (that I believe has been built up previously), kind of killed this audio series for me. It's ok to listen to whilst you're doing housework, nothing more. I probably won't be downloading the next set of books though. Shame, I wanted to finish the series, I don't like leaving things unfinished.

I really tried with this set of books 13-15, I don’t know, if it was the terrible narration or if it was the characters complete change of personality, self blame and constant repetition but I just couldn’t finish them and that is very unlike me. I still think the narrator was a massive mistake and had a big impact. I would suggest you definitely sample this particular book before continuing as It changes the characters completely.
