About this listen
I, Lorna Tucker, have lived a life that most you can't even begin to imagine...
'You need to read this book' MICK JAGGER

'An essential read showcasing the resilience of the human spirit' JUANO DIAZ
I have lived in London's piss-soaked streets, I have lived with the sweet embrace of heroin, I have lived when I should have died.
I have lied, I have thieved, I have stripped, I have tricked, I have loved, I have fallen, I have survived.
I could be your daughter, your mother, your lover - I could be you.
Come to hell and back with me.

Gut wrenchingly brilliant and moving.
I couldn’t press pause on this clear eyed memoir of life as a teenage runaway. Narrated by author Lorna Tucker, her descriptions are vivid and cinematic, leading the listener by the hand into the shadow world of Soho she once inhabited.
Unflinching and never self pitying, this is not an ‘easy’ listen, but an important one. She skilfully threads together the events that led a troubled early teen into the wrong crowd, how one small catastrophe led to another, and how vulnerable so many troubled girls looking for love are to the nefarious intentions of predatory older men.
By the end my cheeks were wet and my solar plexus ached. I am full of admiration for the author. We must do more to stop young people falling through the cracks of society.
