When two strangers are trapped in a blizzard, heat rises.

Haunted by what he lost in Afghanistan, Captain Jack Turner is at a crossroads. While the last place he wants to go is the Arctic, at least the routine mission gets him out from behind his new desk. But he starts off on the wrong foot with the Canadian Ranger guiding him across the forbidding and dangerous land, and Jack would rather be anywhere than sharing a tent with Sergeant Kin Carsen.

The Arctic is in Kin's blood, and he can't seem to leave the tundra behind. He wishes he could live openly as a gay man, but the North isn't as accepting as the rest of Canada. Although he's lonely, he loves his responsibility as a Ranger, patrolling the vast land he knows so well. But he's on unfamiliar ground with Jack, and when they're stranded alone by a blizzard, unexpected desire begins to burn. Soon they're in a struggle to survive, and all these strangers have is each other.

Joel Leslie is a great narror did a fantastic job. This story is about Kin and Jack. Jack who is suffering with PTSD and Kin a gay guy who lives a lonely life because of his sexuality and the job and place he lives these two come together and their chemistry is undeniable. just found the ending a little a brute.

PTSD is a dreadful thing and finding a way out has got to be difficult and here in one of the most inhospitable places two men help each other, beaurifully written and narrated.

I enjoyed this story, its location and I loved the characters and it was very well narrated, but the story is missing an epilogue to fill in the missing final spice steps because that fade to black was a let down

an enjoyable story that touches on serious subjects well, the narrator was easy to understand and sped up in tense sections which added to the emotion. however, on occasion it was difficult to tell which character was speaking because they sounded very similar but most of the time it was ok.

I really liked the book. The characters were likeable and the story was interesting and heartfelt. To hear a little about the history of Canada's Native background was a bonus in the story. Narration was good as well.

It was a very short, sweet insta love story and I enjoyed this listen and the storyline.
I just wish it was a little longer ☺️ If they’d had maybe 2-3 weeks together, building on their friendship and getting to know each other more would’ve made a five star for me. But it is what it is and I would recommend for a nice easy listen 😊

The scene where we hear what happened to one of their siblings was heartbreaking though, I can’t ever imagine going that way 😔💔

Dealing with PTSD is a significant challenge, and trying to find a path towards recovery is undoubtedly a daunting undertaking. The persistent shadows of haunting memories and triggers complicate the process.

This is a short and sweet story of redemption and love, featuring two men - one is badly broken, and the other finds it difficult to overcome the memory of a painful tragedy whilst also keeping a huge part of himself hidden for acceptance. Against the backdrop of one of the most inhospitable places on the earth, they help heal each other and potentially forge a path towards shared happiness and contentment.
