About this listen
Anthony
During my seven years as a social worker in Gaynor Beach, California, delivering orphaned twins to their unsuspecting father is the biggest challenge I’ve ever faced. These babies lost their mother and they need a loving parent, but is adorable Scott Wexler up to that challenge? Transferring custody is one thing—walking away is something entirely different, especially with the stress of Christmas bearing down on Scott too.
Scott
After escaping a miserable childhood, I’ve made a fresh start in California. I’m in charge at the Gaynor Beach Public Library, I love helping people, and I'm feeling like an actual functional human being. Then social worker Anthony Rodrigues shows up on my doorstep with twins I fathered through a sperm donation, and suddenly I'm responsible for two tiny lives. Accepting help from the gorgeous social worker is a no brainer—admitting I want him to stay is going to take a lot more courage.
This 74k word gay romance is a slow burn, mid-angst, instalove with a geeky librarian, a by-the-book social worker, adorable twin-toddler terrors, and a beleaguered cat named Crumpy.

very good
Very good narration, fitting well with the writing by this author.
Turning up at someone's home with two babies unexpectedly may be a little far-fetched, but staying to help makes for an unusual forced proximity plot. It was good to see the reasons behind Anthony's actions in another book in this series where he was really awful. The writing style was good and the far-from-perfect babies were really well written. Very enjoyable.

A good redemption story.
Anthony was not a nice character in Gabbi Grey’s book, Hugh so I was happy to learn that she wrote him a redemption story and gave him an HEA. We learn why Anthony was so nasty in Hugh’s book. You don’t have to read Hugh to enjoy Anthony because it does stand alone very well.
This is a great slow-burn story that takes place over several weeks; the first kiss doesn’t happen until more than half way into the book. The epilogue is set a year later and I loved it.
I almost forgot to mention that Michael Ferraiuolo did a wonderful job performing this story. He's one of my favorite audiobook performers.

MM - Single dad and the social worker
We meet Anthony, the obnoxious social worker from the book (Hugh). Here, he gets his own story. Does he grow on you? Yes, a little.
Scott works at the local library, is not in a relationship, and has a happy life until Anthony drops by his doorstep with two babies in tow. Apparently, they are his, but how and how???
I loved this story and the characters; even Anthony started to grow on me.
Michael Ferraiuolo did an excellent job of narrating this book. As usual, I did speed up the recording to 1.25 on Audible.

I received this audiobook for free from GRR at my request. My review is my opinion and an honest review - neither the author nor GRR influenced my opinion.

A heartwarming story
A very heartwarming and beautiful story. The author did a fantastic job with both main characters. They were well developed and relatable and I cared for both of them. I liked them as individuals, I wanted to know more about their pasts and I loved them together as a couple. They had great chemistry.
The author also did an amazing job describing all the difficult and all the beautiful moments of parenthood. I loved following Scott and Anthony, seeing them fall in love, grow as people and become parents. I was rooting for them and their happy ending warmed my heart.
The narrator was fantastic, great audio quality and the voices were perfect and matched the characters. I loved it.

Building a family
Scott the library director and Anthony the social worker who brings him a surprise he never expected make a wonderful couple here in Gaynor Beach. Scott has no personal reference on how to be a good parent but Anthony sticks with him initially out of a feeling of responsibility for the well-being of the twins, then as a friend and eventually as the person to build a family with Scott. I'm really enjoying this series, getting to know the town and its citizens as many of them fall in love. Michael Ferraiuolo does a wonderful job letting us hear Scott, with Anthony’s help develop into a great parent and the two of them become a solid, loving couple.

Listen carefully to this multi-layered story
If you have been reading/listening to the series you will know that Anthony may not have been portrayed in a good light in the last book. As a Social Worker for Gaynor Beach he can be a little too aggressive or overly cautious about his cases. He has just been reprimanded for this with his last case and is now trying to act more cautiously, with more awareness. It is going to be a challenge. He has been left with twins and all the paperwork that signs them from their mother to their biological (sperm donor) father.
Scott is town librarian. young and enjoying his job thoroughly. He intends to finish his PhD, enjoy being young and his role plays with other men. he now has a house thanks to the previous librarian and is nicely settled. An early morning knock on the door, Anthony announcing he has Scott's twins, is, needless to say a huge shock.
The story then unfolds over just a few short but incredibly eventful weeks and Gabbi Grey sends us on a rollercoaster ride through so many emotions but she does so gently, considerately. There is a lot packed into this story. You can enjoy it on its surface level, two men finding love, one man discovering his a father the other discovering he wants to go with him on that journey. There are hints at domestic abuse and there is discussion of being a sperm donor. There is a brush with a child swallowing something they shouldn't and there are lots of nappy changes. In essence this book can be enjoyed on a number of levels, all are dealt with compassionately and taken seriously. By the end you will have a very big happy smile on your face!
The audio narration is spot on and I certainly enjoyed the consistency offered by having the same narrator for the series, he gives due consideration to the story and this is very clear in his cadence. All in all a wonderful story and a great listen.

A Lovely Story, Great Performance by Ferraiuolo
What a lovely series Gabbi Grey's Single Dads of Gaynor Beach has turned out to be! So far I've read Hugh and Anthony, and I can't wait to read the rest. It seems like it is fine to read these as standalones, but I'm glad I read Hugh first, just because Anthony's character is introduced in Hugh. But it would still work fine on its own.
Gabbi Grey has a real gift with their characters, and creates interesting dynamics between them. It is always an engaging relationship, and seeing how they make their way toward a happily ever after is such a treat.
The audio version of Anthony is beautifully performed by the magnificent Michael Ferraiuolo. It is a lovely audiobook.

Wonderful Story & Listen🎧 Engrossing & Heartfelt
It is great to be back in Gaynor Beach for another fantastic single dad romance novel written by Gabbi Great and it is a great addition to the series, a multi-author series of standalone novels. After meeting Anthony Rodrigues in “Hugh” I knew I needed to know his story, and despite not being very likable, I still found him intriguing and knew there was more to him than meets to eye. Anthony is a social worker with child protective services and he delivers not one but two bundles of joy to Scott Wexler, twin babies he had not known he fathered, via sperm donation, once he gets over the shock of it all, Scott handles the surprise fairly well. This is an unusual case for Anthony and he takes a special interest in it, in Scott and the babies too, so he sticks around to help him take care of the babies and to set up his home. It was great to watch these two get to know each other and see their relationship morph into more, also great to learn their backstories and knowing Anthony’s explained a lot of his behavior. Both overcame their childhoods and made the best for themselves. This is a beautifully written and plotted story, a story that captivated my attention the entire time and tugged at my heartstrings. Gabbi Grey, thank you for another wonderful story and emotional rollercoaster ride.
🎧📚🎧 Michael Ferraiuolo continues to deliver an outstanding performance bringing these characters and story to life. His character voices are fitting to their personalities and he is believable in every role. He continues to set the perfect tone for the story, captures all the characters’ emotions and had you feeling each one. Ferraiuolo is a versatile voice artist and his performance elevates this already wonderful story to another level. Thank you for another fabulous listen.
