About this listen

A Chronicles of St Mary's short story that is sure to entertain. If you love Jasper Fforde or Ben Aaronovitch, you won't be able to resist Jodi Taylor.

Here's a question for you. What's the most exciting thing ever found in a fire bucket? And don't say 'fire' because you'll be wrong.

Suppose - just suppose - it was the technology to take a pod to Mars? Yeah, now we're talking!

Every Christmas, for reasons which seem good at the time - especially after an eggnog or two - Max and the others leap into the nearest pod and indulge in their illegal Christmas jump. It's a tradition. This year, however, just to be different, they find themselves part of someone else's illegal Christmas jump. It's time to don a spacesuit and bring your own urine!

Wonderful - funny, engrossing and seriously thought-provoking. An unusual and very interesting piece of writing.

As usual another fun and quirky story. A good way to relax for a couple of hours.

Brilliant idea for a book, but the whole time/space travel thing nearly broke my brain, still haven't got all the arguments straight in my head.

My Brain!!!

Would you visit Mars if you could, for no other reason other than, because its there?
Well being St Mary's thats a daft question to ask. Of course you would.
So off the jolly well went with Pinky in charge for a change.

Christmas on Mars

I do love the hysterical responses of the Time Police and the calmness of St. Mary’s.
A different type of Christmas experience and another myth/conspiracy theory debunked.

Interplanetary travel

Hilarious as always. Just loved the new zany character of Director Pinkerton, she seemed quite normal ( and very brave) in the last book she was in but now she's as mad as the rest of them. Its the way she makes astonishing statements as matter of fact. I'd like to hear more of this lady. She's obviously still as brave to stand up to the time police, who in this book merit quite a lot of sympathy.

Quirky characters in abundance

i used this as a bedtime story, the reader's voice is peasant and the plot is light, so you don't need to focus much and stay engaged. otherwise, this is not the series for me, i did not read the first books, i think i stopped with fantasy at Harry Potter (amazing) when i was a child and did not find something here to make me wish to go back and read 28 books (wow).
i picked this initially just because of the title, it's cute and intriguing, without knowing it's meant for children.
it's great as a children's series.

great as a bedtime story

Wow Great story. I was a bit concerned when I heard where they were off to but it was brilliant. I love Pinky though am a bit puzzled as to how she can maintain discipline in her own unit.

Delightful

Well, not completely different. The irrepressible irreverent St Mary's humor is there. And lots of it. I also have a new understanding for the Time Police and their headaches in keeping the unruly St Mary's antics in check. :-) A light read. Thoroughly enjoyable.

Not to be missed if you like the St Mary's series.

Zara Ramm - fantastic narration as usual.

Different - yes, but still hilarious.
