About this listen

The world is about to change in unimaginable ways…

Earthquakes rock the planet, revealing massive metallic objects and vast subterranean graveyards. One such location is in the Arizona desert. Scientists believe this incredible discovery may hold answers to the origins of man, but when the site is suddenly shut down due to seismic activity, one researcher knows she must return. Assistant archaeologist Rebecca Duccati sneaks into the compound alone, and will have to dig deep to find clues in these strange underground caves and tunnels. The work is dangerous and frightening, but she feels a connection to this bizarre phenomenon that even she isn’t fully aware of yet.

FBI Special Agent Demzey knows nothing about archaeology; his specialty— anomalous crimes, the fringe edge of the aberrant and the unknown. Demzey is investigating a recent rash of vicious and brutal murders, the clues surrounding the killings both disturbing and inexplicable. He and his assistant Connie Wegman catch a break when they discover remains of two monstrous creatures unknown to science, believed to be a race of aliens responsible for attacks on humans across the globe.

With the death toll ticking ever higher, scientists and intelligence agencies on every continent search for the source of these vicious creatures, until the combined efforts of Duccati and Demzey begin to unravel the mystery, though what they uncover could spell the end for the human race.

Breathtaking Story!

"All Hope of Becoming Human" is a great audiobook. It was easy to listen to. The narrator did an excellent job at delivering the story. It is also well written.

The way Lonnie Busch has told such an impressive story that considered many facts based on today's lives and included many genres, such as Science Fiction, Thriller, Horror, Mystery, Drama, and Archeology all together is admirable!

The archeologist Rebecca Duccati and Agent Zach Demzey play the main roles in the novel and have interesting characters.

The story is about discovered metallic items due to earthquakes and some mysterious and terrifying creatures that don't look like anything belonging to Earth that are being reported in some states of the USA and also across the globe. The FBI and scientists need to work together to solve the puzzles and find the answers to save human beings!

The thriller begins with violence from the very first pages and becomes so breathtaking as long as you listen to the chapters and find more clues through the investigations and research!

Meanwhile, you find amazing theories and philosophies about human beings and the fact of how violence can transform humans into the scariest monsters.

I recommend this book to anyone who is into the genre of Slaughter and Thriller.

Not what I expected, in the best way.

From the synopsis I expected a fun, monster & alien-filled romp. It is that but so much more.
There are characters you care about, plot lines that are huge and expensive, feel emotions and twists & shocks that both surprise and hit home hard.
With audiobooks the narrator can often make it break a book. The performance here is excellent and she conveys the male and female characters so that you know instantly who is who. An impressive skill.
This is my second LB book and I'll be working through the rest.

Chilling and immersive. A Superb listen.

Right from the off, the author's prose draws you into a chilling world, expertly immersing you in the ‘present’ of the story while preparing the reader/listener for the depths of what is yet to come. Part suspense thriller, all science fiction with some skilfully blended horror, the story rolls you along into an investigation interspersed with elements of true shock and surprise. As others have mentioned, it has that X-Files feel to it, but it’s far from episodic with a seamlessness as the story unfolds and the reader's mind is widened to the possibilities. The characters are rounded, and their interactions are far from formulaic, their believability pulling you in right through to the end. Interspersed within the story, Busch weaves themes around violence and racism that are explorative and thoughtful, adding to the richness and depth of the novel. A superb read, with engaging narration, it comes highly recommended.
