About this listen

Narrated by the man himself and written in his unmistakable tone and style, Alan Partridge: Nomad is filled with all the joie de vivre you'd expect.

In Alan Partridge: Nomad, Alan dons his boots, windcheater and scarf and embarks on an odyssey through a place he once knew - it's called Britain - intent on completing a journey of immense personal significance.

Diarising his ramble in the form of a 'journey journal', Alan details the people and places he encounters, ruminates on matters large and small and, on a final leg fraught with danger, becomes not a man (because he was one to start off with) but a better, more inspiring example of a man.

Through witty vignettes, heavy essays and nod-inducing pieces of wisdom, Alan shines a light on the nooks of the nation and the crannies of himself, making this a biography that biographs the biographer while also biographing bits of Britain.

Very funny!

Very funny indeed. There are a few editing issues, which is a shame, but otherwise, very very funny.

'Nomad' is a partrimilgrimage we all must take

I have been looking forward to the sequel to the brilliant 'I, Partridge' for years now and this audiobook does not disappoint. 6 hours of partridge goodness!

Loved it... However

If you like Partridge, you will enjoy this as much as a packet of Rolo’s!
Listened to the whole book within 3 days. However, not quite as enthralling as his other 2 books. This may be because the others are absolute genius!

Good lighthearted stuff for Lockdown Walks

I guess most people you see walking on their own laughing to themselves would usually be avoided, but I realised after listening to this podcast that they are probably Alan Partridge fans listening to one of the podcasts! Not as immediate as from the Oasthouse but very dry and perceptive defying the PC nature of modern comedy. Good listen!

Amusing nonsense

What made the experience of listening to Alan Partridge: Nomad the most enjoyable?

Nomad is a great light-heated listen. Alan’s, less than direct, nomadic trek in honor of his late father is full of his classic Partridge insight and observations. The limited plot means at a few points the story feels like its dragging, but for me this was far more than compensated by the regular one-liners that left me chuckling to myself like a lunatic on the train.

I would recommend Nomad but not quite as highly as Alan Partridge’s first book, I, Partridge, which is brilliant.

Back of the net

It's not perfect Partridge but it is still better than the majority of comedy books.

So as partridge it is 8/10 but as compared to audiobooks it is 10/10
