About this listen

Returning from his time in the cities’s militia, Ajax comes to find out his village was destroyed and his mentor was injured due to the whims of a spoiled noble. He knows there is nothing that can be done, as he is now, but luckily for him a dungeon nearby offers the perfect opportunity to train before heading to the Capital.

But once he gets there what will he find? A way to heal his mentor? Support to grow even stronger? Nobles who want to use him for their own ends? Maybe all of the above.

the story is ok. it's a bit railroaded where everyone is willing to drop all the information the character needs. the make narrator is great. his control of accents is great and you can tell the difference between each individual character. the female narrator tho is poor. her control of accents is good. but her punctuation and overall reading seems poor. there are long pauses between words which makes it sound like a child is reading. then other sentences if flows freely but then the pauses begin again. it's. like. each. word. had. a. period. at. the. end. of. it. I hope this is just how she was told to read for the female characters. as she has a pleasant voice and I can hear she has talent. but not owning another audio books she has narrated I can't comment. over all these two books are good fillers while waiting for my main slseries books are released.

I have come to really enjoy this series. The world building is good and the characters all have a great amount of depth to them. You can really connect to the characters. The only thing i find as a negative is the absurd lenght of the status updates.

Another good book

The story is great and well worth a reason. My only issue is with the female narration, it almost seems like she is reading a book but struggling to read the words, a lot of clipped sentences and a lack of any emotion. The guy is really good though.
