‘A compellingly crafted, darkly funny and compulsive read, full of twists – and twists on twists – that keeps you guessing until the last page...a joy and a triumph." (Rachel Joyce)

This was such a good listen, so clever with wonderful characters and read beautifully

Brilliant writing

Brilliantly read, fabulously written. A cliché free compelling tale, darkly comic and cleverly crafted. And the Q&A was a fabulous audible addition.

Can’t fault it

As twists go, it wasn't very twisty. It was actually painfully obvious!

However I didn't find that to matter. I was captivated by the writing, character development and narration. The writing is just wonderful. Beautiful, complimentary word choices that were sprinkled with observant reflections.
The main character is quite interesting and I just couldn't wait to see what she would say and do next!

The narration of the main character was very good and enjoyable to listen to. I did find it hard to distinguish between characters at times though. Any woman from the same area just sounded the exact same.

Fabulously narrated, her voice is perfect for this book.
You know there is a twist brewing, but can't quite out your finger on it or how big it will be so you are constantly left guessing.
Definitely recommend.

Brilliant!!!

I bought this book a couple of weeks ago and then a friend reviewed it and said it was awful. I had to read it! It’s a fantastic story, with wonderfully sculpted characters.

It is read beautifully as well throughout with a lovely Welsh accent which does not falter! There are elements of the main protagonists life and experience which certainly rang true for me! Excellent book though, and very good read indeed.

Great story and really well read!

So well observed, so funny! What a character, what a voice, what a story. Genius!

Really wonderful!

I loved this book. The character of Linda is so brilliantly observed showing her naivety and her peculiar knowingness. I could hardly stop listening and didn't want it to end. I only wish there could be a Tidy Ending Part II! To top it all, Lissa Berry's narration is perfection and actually made the book for me. She needs to read many more audio books.

Totally engaging

For me the last hour of this book made it worth persevering through what I found to be quite an uncomfortable listen. The voice and Linda character combo were just so creepy I didn’t enjoy most of it. Great twist at the end, I didn’t see it coming.

Great ending!

This kept you guessing to the end, the narration was great, the accents were really good, and an interesting story. I might seek out the short story the narrator did also with this author

Loved the reader

Loved this book. Rather then feeling a story was being told, it felt like the character was sharing their very own story and day to day life.
The twists in the last few chapters can at pace and really made the whole book stand out.
Brilliant, think this is for audible rather than reading.

Really great twist
