About this listen

Living on an island plagued by magic and mythical monsters isn’t a fairy tale...it’s a nightmare.

After Keelynn witnesses her sister's murder at the hands of the legendary Gancanagh, an immortal creature who seduces women and kills them with a cursed kiss, she realizes there’s nothing she wouldn't do to get her back. With the help of a vengeful witch, she’s given everything she needs to resurrect the person she loves most.

But first, she must slay the Gancanagh.

Tadhg, a devilishly handsome half-fae who has no patience for high society—or propriety—would rather spend his time in the company of loose women and dark creatures than help a human kill one of his own.

That is until Keelynn makes him an offer he can’t refuse.

Together, they embark on a cross-country curse-breaking mission that promises life but ends in death.

There aren’t enough superlatives or stars to describe this perfection

I had read another review which was so enthusiastic that my interest was piqued. I’m now convinced that, not only is this one of (if not) THE best FR/RF books I’ve ever experienced but also the narrators had a thoroughly perfect harmony going with each other in this engrossing story. Unputdownable. Enchanting. Swoonworthy. Wonderful characters one and all. Enchanting world. Enough Angst and slow burn and passion and frustration and twists and turns to keep you throwing yourself onto random pieces of furniture as you faint away with anticipation. Full marks Jenny Hickman and full marks to Zura and Zachary Johnson for bringing the characters to audible life!

Perfect book to listen too

Just loved the audio from start to finish the narrator was awesome, it took me a wile to get use to the males voice on a recording when it was his turn to say something , but eventually got use to it. Kept my interest right to the end , even lost some zzzzzzzs trying to listen to the end .. brilliant story line and an unusual one at that , so superior to many others .yes I gave this book 5out of 5stars . Now just bought book 2 in this series and from the reviews it’s even better than the book 1, if that is possible .

loved it!!!

Wow, wow wow!! I have the biggest book hangover ever!!

I can't even begin to describe how much I loved this book. I had all the feelings, I genuinely mean that. I cried, I laughed and I smiled while reading this book. At one stage my husband asked me what was wrong because I gasped and put my hand over my heart, the next he asked me if I wanted to put the book in the freezer (friends reference). This book moved me and even now while writing this review, I can't wait to pick it up again and reread some of my favourite scenes!

Keelynn is determined to resurrect her sister after she witnessed the Gancanagh kill her with a cursed kiss. With the help of a vengeful witch and half-fae, Tadhg, Keelynn must kill the Gancanagh. However, everything isn't what it may seem.

Wow! SO first off, Keelynn - She has been through so much and yes, she has made some mistakes but she takes everything in her stride and has grown so much throughout. She took on this task with so much loyalty and determination, it was admirable.

Tadhg, OOOHHH Tadhg, I don't know where to start with him. Being half-fae, in a world that doesn't accept his kind, was heartbreaking. Yet, his wit and sense of humour were hilarious! Even in the darkest of situations, his one-liners had me laughing out loud. I loved him and the more I learnt about him, I loved him even more!!

What I loved most about this book was I couldn't predict it. I actually had to reread parts because I was so shocked, I had to make sure I read it right! It kept me on my toes the entire way through! I was completely captivated by this story. Not only by the characters but by the environment and world Jenny Hickman created. I will admit, I don't read a lot of fantasy books, because I feel I can't "park" the real world and slip into a fantasy one, however with this book I did. I was there. I could visualise everything and I felt every emotion these characters felt. There were so many layers, twists and turns, it was entertaining from start to finish!

I highly highly, HIGHLY recommend this fantasy romance book.

One of the best Romantasy books ever!

OMG that was a freaking rollercoaster. I laughed, cried, and fell in love. I do have this book on Kindle, but when Jenny showed a preview of this book on IG OMG I fell in love with the voice actors. Jenny has chosen the perfect people for this book! Audiobook was just perfect it was never a dull moment and if I could give 10/10 I WOULD GIVE them all the stars because Jenny, Zura, and Zachary deserve so much. I just had to shout and tell everyone about this audiobook. It's just a must-have in your audio library if you are a romantasy lover!

The Performance between Zura and Jeremy was just IMMACULATE! They really made this book come alive and I felt so many feelings and I have become attached to the characters. I have gone through all the feelings of sadness, anger, love, and happiness. I was very in love with Tadhg. I couldn't help but sigh and swoon like a maiden because of him. I do love that there were feelings, put into the audiobook. Definitely, plus point for me. Listening to the voice actors made me disappear from irl. LOL! It was just beautiful and I wouldn't mind listening to this audiobook again and again.

Story

Jenny, Jenny, Jenny the only thing I regret is not going through this story as soon as I could, but I was super glad that this audiobook was worth the credit and I am very happy. Honestly, sometimes I just want to hit Keelyn in the head, but she had her reasons and there were circumstances, but sometimes ahhh!

HOWEVER, I super love the story. I am so in love with it. Tadhg is just EVERYTHING. Even if he be morally gray, he is just. YOU HAVE TO READ THE BOOK OR BETTER YET SPEND A CREDIT FOR THIS AUDIOBOOK TO FIND OUT! In the first few chapters I knew, I would love the book and there were a lot of trials, PLOT TWISTS, secrets, and a lot of frustrating moments, but!!! It was SUPER WORTH IT! This is one of the best fantasy books I have ever come crossed and I am very excited to read the 2nd book!!! Also, I need Rian's story :)

This audio book made me tear up. I just can't. I am in love. No regrets :)

GET IT. YOU WON'T REGRET IT :)

Brilliant story

This is a brilliant story. I feel like the author draws you in to a false sense of security with the love story being fairly typical, but then pulls the rug out from under you with the drama, suspense and spice. The performances were also really good. Can’t wait for book 2 and hope they also do the other books in the series.
