Toward the end of her forty-year career as a creator of science museums, Sheila Grinell turned to fiction. Her debut novel, APPETITE, appeared in 2016 and her second novel, THE CONTRACT, in 2019. Her latest book, PROMISE IN THE DESERT, is the first in her Sonoran Stories series. Grinell writes a monthly newsletter and gives talks at bookstores and libraries about writing as a “second act.” Born in a taxi in Manhattan, she is a graduate of Harvard University and the University of California at Berkeley. She lives in Scottsdale, AZ.
