Richard Hughes von Hurst is a seasoned entertainment professional with deep roots in Hollywood. Born and raised in Southern California, Richard’s early years were shaped by his involvement in the film and television industry, including appearances in several films and the popular series *Fury*. His passion for the arts led him to further his education at UCLA, where he honed his craft in acting, drama, and dance through courses at the prestigious Film Industry Workshop at CBS Studios. Richard re-entered the entertainment world in his twenties by joining the renowned Dale Garrick International Talent Agency. He continued to build his career there, appearing in commercials, series, and other creative projects. His diverse experiences across various facets of the industry have given him a unique perspective on Hollywood’s inner workings. Coming from a Scottish family that initially settled in Marblehead Massachusetts from Perth Scotland in the early 1700 hundreds. They then settled in St. Louis and Mississippi River regions before moving to Hollywood. Richard carries a rich heritage intertwined with his family’s history. He is the nephew of the famed Jack Whalen and the son of Bobbie Whalen, with whom he shares a legacy connected to Hollywood's golden era. Motivated to preserve family history and correct public misconceptions, Richard has dedicated himself to writing a book that paints an honest portrait of his uncle, Jack Whalen, to showcase him as the man and hero he was.
