Dave MacLeod is a professional climber and coach based in the highlands of Scotland. He has been climbing for 30 years and is recognised as one of the best all-round climbers in the world, having climbed E11 trad, 8C boulders, 9a sport routes, XII mixed and 8b+ free solo. He has made hundreds of first ascents across Scotland and the greater ranges of the world, including the Dolomites, Norway and Patagonia. He is also a respected climbing coach, writing a popular blog since 2006 and hosting a successful YouTube channel. Dave has an undergraduate degree in physiology and sports science, a master’s degree in medicine and science in sport and exercise and a master’s degree in human nutrition. He is best known for his hardest trad climbs, Rhapsody on Dumbarton Rock and Echo Wall on Ben Nevis.
