C. Arden Pope, III, and Douglas W. Dockery have collaborated, along with many other colleagues, on research studies dealing with the health effects of air pollution. They have participated in key scientific findings and public policy controversies for almost four decades. They are widely recognized as leading experts on the health effects of air pollution. They have conducted many research projects, advised numerous scientific boards and committees, and have received multiple research and teaching awards. Arden Pope is a Karl G. Maeser Distinguished University Professor at Brigham Young University. Doug Dockery is the John L. Loeb and Frances Lehman Loeb Research Professor of Environmental Epidemiology, Emeritus, at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. He directed the Harvard-NIEHS Center for Environmental Health Sciences and chaired the Department of Environmental Health.
