About this listen

Jason Reinier fell in love with Mik Sanders the moment they met. After years of pining after his best friend, a single night of passion showed him Mik felt the same. Their future together seemed guaranteed until a painful truth tore them apart.

To escape the heartache of losing his best friend and lover at once, Jason accepted an offer overseas to play professional rugby. Mik remained, tethered to a life he neither expected nor wanted.

Eighteen years later, Jason has returned to face his former lover turned brother-in-law, while Mik plays the part of doting husband and father. The years of pain and resentment are no match for the heat both men still feel, and they enter into a forbidden affair—despite knowing from experience every decision has lasting consequences.

I love the Forbidden Goals series. The Try Line is the story of Mik and Jason. After years of friendship and a hidden longing for more, they confess their love for each other. But fate grants them only a few days of happiness. Just after they make love for the first time, Jason's sister (Mik's ex-girlfriend) arrives with a life-changing message that tears the two lovers apart. 18 years later they meet again and the sparks fly. Hate turns to desire and then more.

Cheating is one of the most unpopular topics in romance. But in this book, for me, it was Janel, Jason's sister and Mik's wife, who prevented Mik and Jason's happiness through selfishness.

I was longing for Mik and Jason to get back together.

Jack Bordeaux's deep voice fit my image of Mik and Jason very well.

The HEA is beautifully written.
