About this listen

After two years of taking care of her heartbroken father, Evie needs a new start. Leaving the States and following her sister to Australia to work as the personal assistant of rugby star Xavier "The Beast" Stevens seems like the right kind of distraction.

Tall, muscled, and devilishly handsome, Xavier is the love 'em and leave 'em kind of guy. He never forgets a girl's name because he never bothers to remember it in the first place. Evie soon realizes that being Xavier's assistant is a 24/7 job; the man seems unwilling to even set an alarm for himself.

As she watches him move from one woman to the next, Evie is glad that her heart is safe from his attention. After all, she's a far cry from the size zero models he usually takes to his bed.

But soon being around Xavier doesn't feel like a job and seeing him walk around his apartment half naked all the time isn't helping either. Evie knows that giving in to her attraction will lead to heartbreak, but when Xavier starts treating her as more than just his assistant, resisting his charms seems like an impossible task.

Male narrator spoils it

Female narrator excellent. However I couldn't focus on the story (which I think was actually well written) due to the male narrator - especially when he was speaking female voices. Spoilt it for me.

Great story, male narrator very annoying voice

I love the female narrator she was the reason I bought it but the male one makes the female lead sound like a child. I would buy another by author but not with male narrator

Feel good !

It’s a lovely story, and I liked the lady who narrated this book. However, the guy with the accent was a little distracting.

Ok story

I was really put off my Xavier initially but he’s a fantastic guy. I was really annoyed by the lack of confidence in Evie, but off-putting

It seems like the male narrator was paid to make this book bad ..good story line and I love Cora Riley but I just couldn’t deal

Good Listen

The story line was great Hearing Evie cone to like herself.

Xavier is the typical playboy but I loved him.

The only fault with this book is the male narrator, his portal of Evie is cringe worthy.

The male narrator’s female voice was laughable

This book had a decent story and the female narrator was fine. However… wow, the male narrator! He pretty much ruined this for me but I was too far into the book before he joined in and even further before he unleashed the screech that was him doing a female voice. Absolutely shocking. Think the Australian breakdancer of audiobooks. I’m not sure how he got the job!

Ok story partly grating narration

The story was totally fine but felt like it ended a bit abruptly. The male narrator was not very good though. There was one section (one of the hotter ones) where he actually felt like he was portraying the male leads voice descriptions of “dark” and “rumbling” but otherwise it felt stressed and bratty. His female voice depictions were plain horrible. Think he might have the ability but fell short in this story.
