About this listen
In the explosive finale to New York Times best-selling author Jeaniene Frost's Night Prince series, Vlad is in danger of losing his bride to an enemy whose powers might prove greater than the Prince of Vampires'. In the wrong hands, love can be a deadly weapon.
For nearly 600 years, Vlad Tepesh cared for nothing, so he had nothing to lose. His brutal reputation ensured that all but the most foolhardy stayed away. Now, falling in love with Leila has put him at the mercy of his passions. And one adversary has found a devastating way to use Vlad's new bride against him.
A powerful spell links Leila to the necromancer Mircea. If he suffers or dies, so does she. Magic is forbidden to vampires, so Vlad and Leila enlist an unlikely guide as they search for a way to break the spell. But an ancient enemy lies in wait, capable of turning Vlad and Leila's closest friends against them and finally tearing the lovers apart forever.

I love Leila the main character and I love that the entire story is told from in her head, particularly early on with Vhlad, there were some great laugh out loud moments. she equally frustrated the he'll out of me at times, which I guess was the point because these books are as much about the emotions. good and bad, between varying relationships, family, lover's, friends etc as anything else.
the Vhlad/ Dracula thing was genious, gets funnier throughout the books. and I loved the way the villain in each book is played out throughout the series, it links together very well.
the narrator is great to, she really brings life to all the characters, they are all very individually themselves, none of the frustrating several characters sounding like the same person business. she did have an occasional tendency to get really excited in her reading at certain points, which was mostly great as it added to the building tension or whatever but occasionally did make me laugh out loud - which I doubt was the intention - but it didn't lesson my enjoyment of listening to these books in any way.
Hope that's enough to give you a good feeling about reading the series without giving anything away for you!
Enjoy!

We see a number of the previous characters who hold pivotal roles in the storyline plus necromancers and demons.
As the tale progresses the are two events that I had not expected including a betrayal. I read so much that I can often see where the storyline is going but I love it when it doesn't progress as expected.
Although I understand this is the last book in this series I am sure there must be a book to come which follows Ian and the Law Guardian, Veritas.
Brilliant Complex Plot as always from Jeaniene Frost. I believe I am prejudiced as I immediately buy any new book as it appears

I have many books narrated by Tavia Gilbert and I always expect great things from her, because I know just how talented she is. I was not disappointed. She delivered a five star performance throughout.
