Earth's First StarFighter

The aliens tested humans on an individual basis for miner rentals. Do well on your pilot test, get a spaceship, sign up with a corp, and you can mine the belt. For a puddle-jumper pilot like me, yeah, I was so interested I became obsessed. When I finally tested, I performed above and beyond, being offered a contract for some better than a miner - Earth's First Starfighter.

Aliens ripped a hole above Earth, arriving with a massive space station. I sorta figured we'd be enslaved to fight in their wars or exterminated for our resources. Nope. The hip-high Iglax were merchants with ugly squished faces and thick blue fur. While they weren't much to look at, they sure did have some wonderous technology.

Darius has enjoyed a nice break from an action packed integration into the GGA. With Earth in limbo, and a lost colony likely in need of help, he knows his vacation is on borrowed time. He owes the Merchant Marines, Pavia, and humanity itself to do more, to be more. So when life is turned upside down again, he ventures back into the stars, helping those he can, when he can. The adventure is intense, his family bonds are tight, and the dangers ever-present.

When Darius’ newly founded colony on Umbria Prime is attacked, he fights off the raiders and finds clues that humanity’s old foes–the Iglax–are to blame. Once again, he’s got to return to the galaxy at large to upgrade his ships, advance his skills, and spread humanity further among the stars.

The Iglax Star Empire’s tried twice now to throttle this upstart species before they could expand beyond Sol. They once used humans for cheap mining, cheap labor, and cheap laughs. But with each attempt, humanity’s gotten stronger, spread across more star systems, and found new allies. Now the Iglax are preparing for war.
