In De Profundis, Oscar Wilde, in a lengthy letter to his former lover, reflects on suffering, forgiveness, and redemption. As a confessional text, it ranks with the Confessions of Saint Augustine as an examination of the nature of penitence, its origin and transformative effect. T. W. H. Crosland (1865-1924), a social commentator, was extremely moralistic. Among his targets was Oscar Wilde, whose contrition, as expressed in De Profundis, he believed to be an elaborate and convenient sham.

The author uses colorful descriptions of the areas, people, and actions to draw in the listener.

Too often I've ridden down the wrong trail. Sometimes, because I didn’t know better. Occasionally, even when I did. Then one day a surprising thing happened. Without knowing why, I sat down and wrote the first draft of Dusty. The good Lord gave me the talent and the wanting to write. My desire is to have these stories help spread God’s Word. If nothing else, it is to share a story told well to those who will enjoy it.
