The first stop on their trip is Casper Creek, a cosplay western town perched atop a mountain. There Hannah Hickok, a witch like Ivy, runs things.

Happiness, joy, and a proposal? Merry Christmas from Shadow Lake. Jack Harker is a nervous wreck. He has big Christmas plans for his girlfriend Ivy Morgan, and they involve a ring and house renovations all at one time. First, he has to make sure they both make it through a tense holiday season, though. For Ivy, things are less clear.

Maddie Graves is psychic and can see ghosts. When she returns to her home in Blackstone Bay following her mother's death, she has more to do than find peace with her past, she also has to try and reclaim the future she discarded when she left town after graduation. There’s some sort of monster stalking the downtown area, and a woman has appeared out of nowhere in the creature’s wake only to collapse in front of them. Before Hannah can call for help, the woman disappears, leaving a mystery and a monster hunt on the menu.

Ofelia Archer is working toward a goal, both personally and professionally, and she’s making great strides on both. Her attention is diverted, however, when a steamboat washes ashore next to the riverwalk…and it’s a boat that is more than a hundred years overdue. The Adelaide was supposedly lost on the river back in the day, all souls onboard believed lost, and yet it’s in New Orleans…and it might not be empty. Ofelia and her boyfriend Zach Sully are part of the first team to visit the boat, and almost immediately Ofelia is struck by the reality they’re not alone.

Maddie Graves-Winters should be preparing for the biggest day of her life–she’s going to become a mother in three months after all–but that’s impossible without the right crib. That means an outing to nearby Shadow Lake with her husband, Nick, that turns into a nightmare she wasn’t expecting when a local author is struck in the middle of the road and left for dead.

Ivy Morgan and Jack Harker don’t have many complaints. Things are good, life is quiet, and the only big thing on their to-do lists is picking a date for their wedding. Which is exactly what they’re doing when a local celebutante approaches with an offer for Jack to be on a dating show. He turns her down flat and goes on his way, but the next morning, she’s found dead and the list of suspects is endless thanks to the production landing smackdab in the middle of Shadow Lake.

There's no better time to be in love - and newly engaged - than Valentine's Day. That's what Ivy Morgan believes anyway. She's happy, looking forward to spring, and eager to show her fiancé Jack Harker around Shadow Lake's infamous winter festival. Unfortunately for Ivy, things don't go as planned. While visiting the community barn, one of the girls prepping for the annual pageant falls ill and Ivy has a terrifying vision of the event before it happens. It turns out the girl has been poisoned, and in an effort to watch the remaining girls, Ivy signs up to be a mentor.

Maddie Graves-Winters is looking forward to a week of relaxation with her best friends. She had no idea a camping trip would be so stressful, however. She might have been picturing s’mores and ghost stories around the campfire, but the world has other plans.

It’s vacation time for Harper Harlow and her boyfriend Jared Monroe. They have big plans to head to northern Lower Michigan for a wine tasting event – which happens to be close to a small town called Shadow Lake – and they’re even taking Zander and Shawn along for the ride. In Shadow Lake, Ivy Morgan finds herself in a good mood. It’s officially the start of morel season (her favorite holiday) and she knows exactly how she’s going to spend the next three weeks of her life, much to her fiancé Jack Harker’s chagrin. Everything changes when the two groups meet in the woods – the whimsy of morel hunting too much for Harper’s group to turn away from – and they happen to stumble across a body. It seems a local woman, a party enthusiast with a bad reputation, was shot down in the middle of the forest and it appears someone is out there hunting people rather than animals or mushrooms … making for a very dangerous morel season.
