Most of these gods hadn't been on earth for thousands of years. Some of them are enjoying themselves . . . a bit too much . . . Others are looking for revenge. They're coming for me. It's one thing to wonder whether I can possibly survive the wrath of the gods. Now that they're targeting innocent people to draw me out, I have to ask . . . Is it possible to reap a god?

The Neck are coming for me.... It was just a matter of time before they'd demand I return to the waters. But I'm not the same monster I used to be. Shifting into whatever form someone desires the most...making them into my next meal.

Moll has evoked the Great Horned God - the Wild Hunt has begun. I only have one option: run, and hope I can outlast the duration of the hunt. My best chance? To go back to where it all started. We have to return to Exeter. I don’t want to go to the Order for help, but if they think some some pagan god is coming to town, bringing Moll with him, they’ll have to get involved. The nanonetwork has been upgraded. I can still access the nanobots...but when I do, it leaves the host unconscious. Transferring their mind into the nanoswarm. Dr. Archimedes Flat is expanding his nanoverse. Collecting minds to craft a new "utopia" forged from collective memory. He believes it's the next step in human evolution. And, if a few people have to die to make it happen, well, in his mind that's nothing more than the survival of the fittest. If I'm going to stop him, I'll have to fight him in the nanoverse itself. But, Flat designed the nanoverse.

I’m returning to the Vilokan Asylum of the Magically and Mentally Deranged…not to get treated…but perhaps Doctor Cain can help. The world’s original werewolf…and its first murderer. If anyone can help me get a handle on an undesirable shape-shifting situation…it’s him. But there is a coven of bat-shifting vampires with other plans. Surely their appearance and my…acquisition of this ability…isn’t a coincidence. And I can’t help but wonder…am I the one hunting them? Or have the tables turned?

The Grim Reaper has been benched. There hasn't been a soul to reap in months. What did my brother do that has the gods in such a tizzy? It isn't like people stopped dying. If the reapers aren't ushering the souls of the deceased into the afterlife, someone else . . . or something else . . . will do the job. If the gods don't stop attacking each other, none of them will have the strength to rule. Anarchy can be worse than tyranny. You can assassinate a tyrant. You can't eliminate everyone under anarchy. Why does everyone seem to think I'm the answer to the problem? Sure, I can reap gods. I'm the only mortal the Olympians fear.

I've been framed for murder. The evidence is damnable. To catch a vampire draining the life out of someone on camera.... When the killer looked back, my face was staring right into the monitors. Not even the Voodoo Queen can defend me. I'm on the run.

The legends didn't do Dracula justice. Bat shifting is one thing. The ability to connect his mind to any he'd sired was an ability severely understated in the stories. His horde is like a bloodsucking Borg collective. Add to that his abilities to travel the astral plane and hypnotize his victims with a glance and his butt-load of money . . .
