Maurice Coons (also known as Armitage Trail), is best known for this 1929 pulp fiction novel which is based on the life of Al Capone. The book is the basis of two films films of the same name. One starring Paul Muni in 1932 and later on starring Al Pacino in 1983. The story starts out with the beginnings of young Tony Guarino as a small time but savvy gangster who goes off to fight in the Great War and comes back as Tony Camonte, the city's next big cheese.

Il romanzo fu pubblicato in Italia diviso in due volumi: "Il triangolo d'oro" e "La vittoria di Arsenio Lupin".

Maurice Leblanc si cimenta in un romanzo di fantascienza, con eccellenti risultati. Una misteriosa proiezione su un muro mostra eventi della storia passata riprodotti con precisione straordinaria. Maurice Leblanc, creatore del fortunato personaggio di Arsenio Lupin, ha scritto nel 1916-17 questo romanzo a puntate, che fu pubblicato in Italia in due volumi: "Il cerchio rosso" e "Le avventure di Fiorenza". Il romanzo non vede la partecipazione di Lupin. Quello che non manca sono le avventure e la fantasia dello scrittore, che elegge come eroina una donna coraggiosa e generosa che assume il ruolo di "giustiziera" intervenendo, con mezzi non ortodossi, in situazioni in cui la legge ha le mani legate.

Maurice Marie Émile Leblanc (1864 -1941) was a French novelist and writer of short stories. His famous character, Arsène Lupin, is a master of disguise, a historian, gentleman, and a burglar. In these adventures, Lupin organises a series of flamboyant heists under the nose of the determined Inspector Ganimard. He carries out the most amazing burglaries without ever leaving a clue. The innocent and poor have nothing to fear from him, but the rich and powerful, and the detective who tries to ruin the fun, are the targets of Arsene’s mischief.
