Once there was a bad little boy whose name was Jim - though, if you will notice, you will find that bad little boys are nearly always called James in your Sunday-school books. "The Man That Corrupted Hadleyburg" is a piece of short fiction by Mark Twain. It first appeared in Harper's Monthly in December 1899, and was subsequently published by Harper & Brothers in the collection The Man That Corrupted Hadleyburg and Other Stories and Sketches (1900). Some see this story "as a replay of the Garden of Eden story", and associate the corrupter of the town with Satan. Hadleyburg enjoys the reputation of being an "incorruptible" town known for its responsible, honest people that are trained to avoid temptation.

Samuel Clemens, better known as Mark Twain, was very enamored with his daughter, Susi, and remained so up to her untimely death at age 24 in 1896. In 1875, at the age of 3, she had written her first letter to Santa Claus. As a writer and loving father, Twain, couldn't stand for his young daughter to feel like her work went unheard, so he penned the following letter to "My Dear Susie Clemens" from "The Man in the Moon" himself.

"A Dog's Tale" is a short story written by Mark Twain. It first appeared in the December 1903 issue of Harper's Magazine. The Mysterious Stranger is a novel attempted by the American author Mark Twain. He worked on it intermittently from 1897 through 1908. Twain wrote multiple versions of the story; each involves a supernatural character called "Satan" or "No. 44". All the versions remained unfinished (with the debatable exception of the last one, No. 44, the Mysterious Stranger). In 1590, three boys, Theodor, Seppi, and Nikolaus, live relatively happy simple lives in a remote Austrian village called Eseldorf (German for "Assville" or "Donkeytown").

Querkopf Wilson (Originaltitel: Pudd'nhead Wilson. Those Extraordinary Twins.) ist ein Roman von Mark Twain. Er wurde 1894 veröffentlicht und erschien auf Deutsch auch unter den Titeln Knallkopf Wilson und Wilson, der Spinner. Schauplatz der Geschichte ist die heimelige, etwas verschlafene Kleinstadt Dawson's Landing am Mississippi, die wie Deer Lick (in Eine Bluttat, ein Betrug und ein Bund fürs Leben) und auch wie St. Petersburg (in Tom Sawyer) an Mark Twains Heimatstadt Hannibal in Missouri erinnert.
