    Jul 18 2025

    Hello, it's Adam.

The bonus episode today, is the seventh of my regular monthly conversations with my good friend Stuart, the host of the British Murders Podcast. Once again, we sat down to chat about local, national and international crimes which have really made an impression with us. I hope you find the chat interesting.

I will be back as usual on Tuesday with my normal weekly episode.

  • A Modern James Bond : Episode 452
    Jul 14 2025

It is said that on the internet you can be whoever you want to be.

For some, this is true in real life too and so it was for Mike Newitt. Facing financial ruin, the married father re-invented his life to be a secret agent of the Govt so convincingly that even his work colleagues and his wife believed him. But it didn't end well for Mike.

I absolutely love these podcasts. The stories are detailed and interesting, & are delivered in an entertaining manner. I also enjoy the year and month game at the beginning of the podcasts, which sets the scene time-wise. Well done Adam!

I'm new to this podcast and pleasantly surprised. As many "fans" of the genre - I'm not sure if fans is the right word - I find true crime fascinating, I detest the "exciting" delivery style on many a Netflix documentary that glamourises the crime and/or perpetrator.

In contrast, this podcast looks at at the details of the crimes covered in a much more measured tone and Adam always takes time to remind the listener of the victims and their loved ones.

He praises and admonishes the police as appropriate to the specific case. This is unusual as many I have heard will make excellent police work sound surprising.

I love the musical and historical context given at the start of each episode.

The advertisements were a bit of a shock as I usually listen to audiobooks and podcasts without them but I'm steadily working my way through them so it can't be that off-putting!

I thoroughly enjoy listening to these episodes. The fact that they are in bitesize portions makes them appealing for shorter car journeys and walks that I do. Or even when I am doing jobs around the house and garden. The detail is very good and if it is a more complex story, it will become a 2 part podcast. I first found them on Spotify, but now follow on audible. I can’t wait for the next new episode. Thank you.

Adam has an incredible way of relaying a story without judgement, but then finding the perfect time to hone in on different perspectives and hold a mirror up to injustices. I love his podcast and his compassion for victims and their families.

Adam is an amazing host

I first came across this podcast on Spotify which was great for me but finding it here just makes me want to listen to every episode again!
I highly recommend if you are interested in true crime but prefer a short summary of cases, most episodes are 20 ish minutes so they're great for snapshots of events. Very easy listen!

A brilliant addition to my week
