  • Our Crazy Cycles: The Devil Re(Cycles)
    Dec 24 2024

In this episode of This is Crazy, Bri and TJ tackle a critical topic: how to fight against the enemy. Spoiler alert—he’s not as clever as we sometimes think! The enemy repeatedly uses the same old tactics to trip us up, but by recognizing his patterns, we can stand firm and resist.

    Scripture References (MSG):

    • Ephesians 6:11 – And that about wraps it up. God is strong, and he wants you strong. So take everything the Master has set out for you, well-made weapons of the best materials. And put them to use so you will be able to stand up to everything the Devil throws your way. This is no weekend war that we’ll walk away from and forget about in a couple of hours. This is for keeps, a life-or-death fight to the finish against the Devil and all his angels.

    • Romans 12:2 – So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you.

    • 1 Peter 5:8-11 – Keep a cool head. Stay alert. The Devil is poised to pounce, and would like nothing better than to catch you napping. Keep your guard up. You’re not the only ones plunged into these hard times. It’s the same with Christians all over the world. So keep a firm grip on the faith. The suffering won’t last forever. It won’t be long before this generous God who has great plans for us in Christ—eternal and glorious plans they are!—will have you put together and on your feet for good. He gets the last word; yes, he does.

    Key Takeaways:

    1. Set boundaries, maintain them, and be aware of your triggers. Protect your heart and mind by knowing where your weaknesses lie and guarding them.

    2. Do not manufacture miracles. Trust God’s timing and avoid the temptation to force outcomes that are not in His plan.

    3. Remember your foundation. Stay grounded in God’s Word and His promises, especially when life gets tough.

This episode is packed with practical advice and spiritual truths to help you break free from the enemy’s repetitive cycles and walk confidently in God’s purpose for your life.
