Sitting down and watching the NFL Draft is one of my favorite weekends of the year. It is relaxing and it is always fun adding players to your favorite team. Gute handled this class wonderfully. There are definitely picks with question marks, but a majority of the picks are looking like great value and solid players for this team. In this episode we are looking at them 1 by 1. I dont know about you, but I am pumped for this coming NFL Season. Bring on opening day. I am loving this class for the Packers and I am excited to see Love grow along with the rest of this young team. With that in mind, this is the last episode of the X-Packtor Podcast. The draft is 1 day away! In this episode Im starting it off talking about the meat of the draft and how the Packers can best take advantage of the talent in this draft class. We are talking draft strategies and some players that I have my eyes on in rounds 2 and 3 that you will be jumping up and down for to come to Green Bay. Then finally we are going to jump into a full 1st round mock draft. We are going pick by pick breaking down team needs and figuring out what players will possibly go where. Aaron Rodgers has been traded! I had already recorded the episode prior to the news coming out, but I was in the editing process when it broke. I left some thoughts at the very end of the episode on how I feel about the trade and how I feel it will effect the Packers draft class. Im also going to discuss how much I think it should and will effect the Packers draft strategy. Take a breath. The trade has been finalized even if it is not official. We are getting closer and closer to the draft. Slightly more than a week away. With that in mind, it is time to do a live 7 round mock draft for the Packers. I like the way this mock turned out with a couple missed picks I wouldve loved to have had. Too many great players and not enough picks. Happens every year, but that doesnt mean that the Packers didnt load up on some solid playmakers in this mock.

Also, I almost fell in to the pool.

We are wrapping up the draft profiles for the 2023 Draft class with the WR group. A lot of WR I really like in this class and I have been looking forward to getting into it. Quentin Johnston, JSN, Jalin Hyatt, Cedric Tillman Marvin Mims, Jonathan Mingo. I really really like the talent and skillsets in rounds 2-5 and it would not surprise me a bit if the Packers walk out of this draft with multiple pass catchers

Rodgers is 95% out the door. Maybe more. Time for the Packers to move on to their next starter in Jordan Love. That also means it’s time to find the next backup QB for the Packers. Is there any veterans out there that would be good in that spot? Are there any quarterbacks in the draft that would be with a late round pick for a career backup. Also, how is the Packers Running Back room looking. Is it time maybe to start looking into the future for that room? There are a few solid Runningbacks in this draft class that I really like and I think could be a piece to use right away and a solid starter in the future should one of the current 2 depart in the next year or 2.

Taking a look at the big men up front. Who do you want blocking for your QB an opening running lanes for your running back? Also we are going to take a look at some crazy big men that are also excellent athletes. I was really looking forward to talking about Tight Ends so I was very excited to get to this episode

There are several sleepers I have in this DT class. I think the Packers can pick up solid players in both if they wait until the middle rounds to do so. That does not mean Im not going to look at some of the earlier guys though. There is a lot of talent on the Edge group for sure. This is possibly the deepest edge class that the draft has had in a long time even if it is not necessarily top heavy.
