• Injury
    May 4 2025

Injury happens to all of us, and the frustration is real. Some quick tips today on how to stay organised while you have an injury.

Firstly, remember to rest - the decluttering and organising can wait, and it's not worth making an injury worse to achieve a tidy home.

Next, ask for help - to accommodate your needs right now, or to help tidy so it's not bothering you so much. Maybe write yourself a list on your phone of areas you'd like to declutter when you're able.

And think of ways you can organise to make life easier with your injury. Bring high use items down to easy to reach spaces or repurpose your bedside table or coffee table - get creative so you can rest and recuperate or reduce the frustration at least with your reduced capacity.

  • Time Management with Anna Dearmon Kornick
    Apr 20 2025

Anna Dearmon Kornick is a highly sought after time management coach and hosts the podcast ‘It's About Time’. Today she shares with us why time management is important (tip: it's not just so you can get more stuff done!) and how knowing a few things about how humans manage time can drastically change your relationship with time management.

My favourite part is when she talks about a time management swiss army knife - the principles she shares are game changing - make sure you listen right to the end.

  • Confidence Game
    Apr 13 2025

Confidence... we all want it, we all feel better when we have it, but when it comes to where you place your confidence in the world of organising your home it's easy to misplace your confidence.

Some people feel that they have confidence by keeping all their items and knowing it's in the house somewhere bring confidence... but if you can't find the item when you need it, your confidence is misplaced. However the confidence really comes when you can find what you need quickly and easily.

Best bit of todays episode is you can play along with the gameshow to explain the confidence that you can get through reducing quantity or organising your items well.

  • Decluttering Maths
    Mar 30 2025

You've heard of normal maths... you've maybe even heard of girl maths, but have you heard of Decluttering Maths!?

Decluttering maths is logical, exponential and always truthful. The higher the number of items you have either in a category or in your home, the harder it is to get it organised, and harder it is to keep it organised.

One thing I love about maths is that both sides of the equation balance out... so the opposite is also true... the lower the number of items you have either in a category or in your home, the easier it is to get organised, and easier it is to stay organised.

  • Blame Entropy
    Mar 23 2025

Do you wonder why you tidy up and then it feels like hours later you're back in mess? You might like to blame ENTROPY! Entropy is the second law of thermodynamics and states that everything moves towards a state of disorder.

Today I unpack how entropy affects your home, and explore the options - to surrender (I mean it's a universal law right!?), or what it takes to counteract the law to achieve your desired results.

  • Feels Like Home
    Mar 16 2025

My dad gave me a lovely compliment today when he was over for a cup of tea and piece of banana bread - he said that my home is inviting and relaxing and 'feels like home'.

And it got me thinking about watching "With love, Meaghan" on Netflix this week and how having a home where people feel welcome and relaxed is such a beautiful goal - above having it perfect, or minimalist or styled etc. That how you feel in your home, and how others feel in your home is more important than if the paint is outdated or the dishes don't match.

Have a think about what helps you feel like your house is a home, both for you and your guests. Forget what other people, or the media might tell you is important - what is important to you? And go for that! Enjoying your home isn't about it being perfect, or always clean, or always having fresh cookies, it's about how you feel and how you want to feel. You've got this!
