    Apr 3 2025
The Flamewind burns brightly through the Oseon as your SWOCBC boys, Alex, Davis, and Jesse return to that old free spirit, just 27 years young, Lando Calrissian and his enlightened droid Vuffi Raa, back for another fantastic, unlikely, and hilariously unwhelming 1980's L Neil Smith space lounge hang sesh.

    Mar 20 2025
Life, love, and a bizarrely specific adherence to 1980's libertarian idealism converge in a trilogy of episodes over the next five weeks, as Alex, Davis, and Jesse tackle the grooviest Star Wars ever written in L Neil Smith's Lando trilogy, and in the case of the Mindharp of Sharu, it is literally all about the vibes.

These guys are hilarious

Context - I read Splinter of the Minds Eye when it was first released in the late 70s. I still have my original copy of the paperback, but I haven't read it since that first time. I also have the comic book version of the same story, released about 20 years ago by Dark Horse Comics.

Splinter of the Minds Eye is a forgettable story when you consider what transpired afterwards, but it has a nostalgic charm, which is exactly what this podcast conveys, in the guys' own funny style. I laughed out loud at most of their comments. I can imagine them in some kind of frat house, drinking beer and just BS-ing about this great book, and it is utterly hilarious.

I don't know anything about these guys, but I'm going to tune in for more and hopefully get more frivolous mirth surrounding the old Star Wars Expanded Universe (EU), before the EU even became a thing.

What this podcast has done, is make me reach for my bookshelf and dust off my aged copy of Splinter...
