Well, there's no sugar-coating it. The New York Mets are playing some bad baseball. A 7-1 loss to the Atlanta Braves makes it six straight losses and the second straight sweep.

Everything is going sideways for the Mets right now. Pitching wise, they walked nine in the game which was a recipe for disaster. Clay Holmes wasn't able to finish five innings and walked six during his outing.

Hitting wise, it was another rough night. 1-for-8 with RISP and 6 men left off base.

And now the Mets head into a weekend series with the Phillies tied in the standings atop the NL East.
