About this listen
If you’re in the mood for something more laid-back or family-friendly, Cheekwood Estate and Gardens is hosting its Enchanted Castles exhibit all week and throughout the weekend. This outdoor installation transforms the beautiful Cheekwood gardens into a fantasy realm, with five locally crafted castles tucked among blooming gardens. Kids and adults alike will love exploring this magical landscape, which is the result of a collaboration between Cheekwood and Castle Homes. It’s a whimsical escape just a short drive from downtown, and perfect for a summer stroll.
For those who love to dance, Swing Dance Nashville is hosting their Jump Session every second and fourth Friday of the month, including this week. Head over and shake off your work week for just ten dollars, or fifteen if there’s a live band, and enjoy one of the friendliest dance floors in the city.
Sports fans, you’re covered too. Nashville SC is at home this week, and minor league baseball fans can catch the Bowling Green Hot Rods facing off against the Rome Emperors on July fifth.
And of course, no visit to Music City is complete without a stop at the Grand Ole Opry. The famous Opry House continues its centennial celebrations, and on Tuesday, July eighth, there’s a special Tribute to Charlie Daniels featuring Jamey Johnson, Chris Young, Gretchen Wilson, and Trace Adkins. For the best seats, book ahead, as Opry shows consistently sell out.
Looking ahead to Thursday, jazz fans won’t want to miss Diana Krall at the Ryman Auditorium on July tenth, bringing her acclaimed vocals and piano to the historic stage.
If you’re just looking to relax and take in the Nashville vibe, keep an eye out for free shows like Pickin’ on the Plaza, often held outside Ryman Auditorium with local bluegrass and folk musicians. And don’t forget to check local calendars for pop-up events, food trucks, and art happenings—Nashville always has a little something extra up its sleeve.
