December 15, 2024: Michigan State heads back to the hard court after ten days off since their two Big Ten matchups. The Spartans continue their long annual series with the Oakland Golden Grizzlies for its 23rd year. So far, MSU is 22-0 in the series but Oakland usually poses some interesting challenges for the Green and White.

Oakland is coming off its most important win in their history last year where they won a first round NCAA tournament game by upsetting Kentucky. They weren’t able to keep that momentum into the Sweet 16 and unfortunately for the Grizzlies, they weren’t able to keep their key players due to graduation and the transfer portal. MSU will look to speed up one of the slowest teams in D1 basketball. They will also hope to exploit their size and punish them on the boards.
