    The Golden Knights closed out the 2024 calendar year with a loss to the Montreal Canadiens 3-2. VGK squandered a 2-0 lead. Bruce Cassidy wasn't happy with the performance saying "Those were points we should have had." It was a sloppy game for VGK, giving up two goals off key turnovers.     VGK closes out the New Year with a matinee against the Montreal Canadiens at T-Mobile Arena in a 12 noon faceoff. The Golden Knights defeated the Habs in the first meeting in Montreal 6-2 by erupting for five straight goals in the 2nd period. The Canadiens will be playing their third game in four days. They played back-to-back games in Florida before heading to Las Vegas Monday. Jonas Rondbjorg was called up Monday. And, we have our Locks of the Knight.

  • VGK shuts out Calgary for a 2nd time this season on home ice

    The Golden Knights blanked the Calgary Flames for a second time this season on home ice. This time it was Ilya Samsonov who shut out the Flames 3-0 on 31 shots. Both he and Calgary goalie Dan Vladar were locked into a duel before Brett Howden broke the ice with 4:01 to go in the second period. That became the game winner. Samsonov had to withstand a lengthy penalty kill after back-to-back penalties on VGK. We recap Friday's win over the Sharks and the four-goal third period outburst for the Golden Knights. VGK has now won six straight games. We talk about the UNLV Rebels knocking off D1 Denver, and Derek Engelland is selected into the Southern Nevada Sport Hall of Fame.     VGK posted a win over the Seattle Kraken, it's third straight win, Saturday night, 6-2. VGK trailed again and had to rally for its 12th comeback win after trailing 1-0. Mark Stone had 3 points to lead VGK. The Golden Knights played a scoreless second period, but head coach Bruce Cassidy felt it was one of his team's best games periods. Tonight, the Golden Knights host the Ducks, who won in Salt Lake City Sunday night. The Ducks scored the last three goals in regulation and Mason McTavish potted the winner in the shootout.
