About this listen
A grisly double-murder at the height of the 1980s Miami Drug Wars.
By the time the sun sets on South Beach on the day of the murders, an eyewitness comes forward, and Miami police detectives arrest Krishna Maharaj, an importer and real estate speculator with no criminal history.
But could the case be as open and shut as it seems?
©2021 Audible, Ltd (P)2021 Audible, LtdAn obviously utterly innocent man has spent 34 years in prison for a crime he obviously did not commit. He is now 82 years old. His wife waits for him faithfully all this dreadful time, knowing he is entirely innocent.
Indeed, his innocence is blindingly clear - yet the American justice system does not allow his innocence to be proved in court. I weep for him, but this does him no good at all. Thank God there are some who fight for him and try endlessly to get the justice system to allow him back into court for a new hearing.
And this is consistently denied.
How can any system of national justice work in such an absurd and improper manner?
I pray this incarcerated innocent man will somehow discover justice. I can only hope and pray that justice will reappear for this man and his faitjful helpers, and for anyone else in the same situation.
injustice so profound

This is such a sad story that needs to be told & heard for Krishna Maharaj's sake, the sake of his Loved ones, for other victims of such despicable injustices & most importantly for change to happen.
After 7 years on Death Row Clive Stafford Smith founder of Reprieve takes on Krishna's case.
Inspired by this story & another reader's review of this audible book, I'm now a Reprieve Member.
If like me you ask yourself "What can I do to help improve things?" then consider doing as I & other listeners have done & take a look at Reprieve Organisation.
