  • Colorado Legislates Gender Insanity
    May 13 2025

My wife Chelsea returns to Truthspresso and our oldest son joins us to chat about Colorado's radical gender bill that has provoked national attention.

HB25-1312, also known as the "Kelly Loving Act," seeks to transform society to "protect" "rights" for people who identify as a gender contrary to their birth certificate.

The original version of the bill sought to bias courts to grant custody to children to whomever would "affirm" alternate gender identities and punish parents who stand for reality. It would forbid schools from enforcing gender-specific dress standards. It would punish school staff for "deadnaming" or "misgendering." Millions of public documents would need updates to allow a new "chosen name" to usurp a person's legal name.

Many Coloradans have expressed deep concern and outrage at the bill's unapologetic social engineering and unconstitutional violations of First Amendment rights.

Although some of the original Orwellian sections have been removed from the final version, the bill still poses serious risks to public education and society from an anti-Biblical agenda. Please pray for God's mercy and salvation for the state of Colorado.

We ask you to consider contacting the office of Governor Jared Polis by calling the phone number listed and urge him respectfully not to sign HB25-1312 known as "The Kelly Loving Act" because it unconstitutionally suppresses the freedom of speech, favors treating children in a way that could harm them for the rest of their lives, and is plainly against what the Bible teaches about God's design for humanity, parenting, and education.

  • Evangelism Essentials: A Comprehensive Guide
    May 9 2025

The primary focus of this podcast episode is the significance of evangelism within the Christian faith, a topic that we explore through a series of thought-provoking questions and discussions. We delve into the essential role that evangelism plays in fulfilling the church's mission, emphasizing that it is not merely an option but a divine mandate. Throughout our discourse, we underscore the necessity of understanding the nature of sin and righteousness to effectively communicate the gospel message. Additionally, we examine various approaches to evangelism, highlighting the importance of both confrontational and conversational methods in reaching diverse audiences. Ultimately, our aim is to encourage believers to embody their faith actively, thus becoming vessels for sharing the transformative message of Christ.

    Takeaways:

    • The essence of evangelism lies in its fundamental role as the mission of the church, as articulated in Matthew 28:19-20, which commands believers to go forth and make disciples.
    • We must recognize that effective evangelism requires both a confrontational and conversational approach, as each situation presents unique challenges that necessitate discernment and sensitivity.
    • It is imperative that we distinguish between living a holy life as a reflection of faith and the notion that mere lifestyle evangelism suffices for sharing the gospel; verbal proclamation is essential.
    • The concept of double predestination is often misunderstood; true Calvinism emphasizes God's sovereign choice in salvation, without equating it to fatalism or the Islamic view of predestination.

This episode of the Abundant Life podcast delves into the profound journey of Cody Bentley, a former member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS) who has transitioned to a born-again Christian. The discussion, guided by hosts Saso and Ben, emphasizes the contrast between the doctrines of Mormonism and traditional Christianity, particularly focusing on the notion of grace. Cody recounts his upbringing within the LDS faith, highlighting a performance-based relationship with God that left him feeling spiritually malnourished. He shares his struggles with addiction and the burdens of guilt that permeated his life as he sought fulfillment through works rather than faith. The podcast explores the pivotal moment when Cody discovered the freedom and assurance found in a relationship with Jesus Christ, which allowed him to break free from the cycles of shame and guilt that had characterized his previous religious experience. Through heartfelt dialogue, the hosts and Cody reflect on the transformative power of grace and the importance of a genuine connection with Jesus, contrasting it with the institutional emphasis found in the LDS Church.

The episode presents a candid exploration of Cody's spiritual metamorphosis, detailing how he transitioned from a life steeped in the doctrines of Mormonism to embracing the teachings of Christianity. Central to this transformation is the realization that salvation is not contingent upon human efforts but is a gift of grace received through faith in Jesus Christ. Cody articulates the stark differences in his understanding of God, moving from a performance-driven faith to one marked by unconditional love and acceptance. The discussion touches on the challenges faced by those leaving the LDS Church, where adherence to doctrines can lead to a fear of losing community and identity. Cody's journey serves as a beacon of hope for others who may find themselves questioning their faith and seeking a deeper, more fulfilling relationship with God.
