Lo, How A Rose E'er Blooming

Author unknown (German origins), translated by Theodore Baker with harmonization melody by Michael Praetorius.

Lo, how a Rose e'er blooming
    From tender stem hath sprung!
    Of Jesse's lineage coming
As men of old have sung.
    It came, a flower bright,
    Amid the cold of winter
    When half-gone was the night.

    Isaiah 'twas foretold it,
The Rose I have in mind:
    With Mary we behold it,
    The virgin mother kind.
    To show God's love aright
She bore to men a Savior
    When half-gone was the night.

    This Flower, whose fragrance tender
    With sweetness fills the air,
    Dispels with glorious splendor
    The darkness everywhere.
    True man, yet very God,
From sin and death He saves us
    And lightens every load
From sin and death He saves us
    And lightens every load

  • It's Time To Armor Up
    Dec 2 2024

    Send us a text

Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. Ephesians 6:13

If we have had recent victories in our nation, in our churches, our homes, etc, we must still realize this: we are in a spiritual battle. The enemy is prowling, regrouping, and readying an attack -- on those who profess and claim Christ. Today's episode centers much upon spiritual warfare and the realization that as believers, we cannot stop pressing in and moving forward. We must put on the armor everyday. We must plead the blood over our homes. And we must stand in Christ's victory. Are you suited up? Are you getting into the secret place everyday?

  • A Thanksgiving Proclamation
    Nov 25 2024

    Send us a text

“To recommend to the People of the United States a day of public thanksgiving and prayer to be observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many signal favors of Almighty God especially by affording them an opportunity peaceably to establish a form of government for their safety and happiness.” George Washington

What are the origins of the holiday we celebrate known as Thanksgiving? The day was set aside by a proclamation by President George Washington in 1789. This proclamation has much to benefit our understanding of this day and what it means to our nation. Namely, this day is a day of thanksgiving and prayer to Almighty God. This podcast episode walks through this proclamation and the implications therein...things that still apply to us now some 200+ years later.

    Read the proclamation here: https://founders.archives.gov/documents/Washington/05-04-02-0091
