２０２１年４月、２０１８年から３年にわたって経営の舵取りを続けてきた車谷暢昭社長ＣＥＯの辞任と綱川氏の社長再登板を説明する会見会場。にもかかわらず、そこに車谷氏の姿はなかった。騒動が表面化したのは、４月６日に英投資ファンド、ＣＶＣキャピタル・パートナーズから東芝に「提案書」が届いたときだった。そこには、東芝株を１株５０００円で公開買い付けし非公開化、３年後に再上場を目指すとあった。
東芝経営陣・社外取締役、ファンド、東証、経産省など、大きな力が幾重にも絡み合う。そうした中、事業仕分けでリストラは終わり黒字維持は保つが、次の成長事業は不透明だ。従業員１２万人を超える巨艦企業はどこに向かうのか。
