About this listen

Meet the Young Men in Spats - all members of the Drones Club, all crossed in love and all busy betting their sometimes nonexistent fortunes on unlikely outcomes - that's when they're not recovering from driving their sports cars through rather than round Marble Arch.

These wonderful comic short stories are the essence of innocent fun. In them you'll encounter some of Wodehouse's favourite characters - including, for the first time, his future hero Uncle Fred. The collection is widely regarded as one of Wodehouse's best and includes one of his own favourites, 'The Amazing Hat Mystery'.

It’s very amusing I realise it’s a different world so can’t take things too seriously but very good as light relief

Hilarious

The whole thing was great from start to finish. The narrator is THE definitive Wodehouse narrator. Buy it!

Wodehouse brilliance!

Here we have a good number of PG Wodehouse characters and their hilarious antics. Some of the stories are laugh out loud. Wonderful narration by the master Jonathon Cecil.

Great collection of stories

I really enjoyed this collection of short stories. P.G Wodehouse never fails to deliver. My only disappointment is that audible don’t seem to be able to divide multiple story audiobooks into proper chapters & list titles so you can easily pick which story you want to listen to. The chapters don’t actually relate to individual stories with some stories overlapping chapters. It doesn’t make any sense to do it this way. Surely it isn’t difficult to divide the audiobook into chapters with each chapter being one story & to note the title of the story.

Hate that audible asks for headlines...

A series of short stories from PG. Full of laugh out loud moments brilliantly narrated by Jonathan Cecil. Best of all we get an early outing of uncle Fred.

This was full of laugh out loud moments and as always with PG Wodehouse, I didn’t want it to end.

Joyful, what ho!

I liked every story in this audiobook! The adventures of the naive and clumsy main characters, who are young men, are hillarious, and lead always to surprising and satisfying endings. This must be the most brilliant English humor! The combination of Jonathan Cecil reading P. G. Wodehouse is surely a winning one. I didn't want the book to end. I will be looking for my next read from the same author, read by the same actor. I've already heard quite a few, but am still hoping that there are some more left for me to enjoy. :)

Very entertaining and perfectly read

This is not Wodehouse at his best. Painfully awkward situations one after the other, followed by comic relief.

Not his best

Stories are good fun, performance fantastic but unfortunately the chapters do not align with the track listings making it a pain to find where you were up to. bit of a botch job that needs tidying up by audible.

great performance let down by audible
