About this listen
My heart's about to get wrangled in Chad's wicked little game.
I left behind my countryside hometown of Spruce, Texas and my teenage tormentor Chad Landry to start over, pursue a career, and make a new name for myself.
Fast forward 10 years, and I'm back in Spruce for my high school reunion to confront my past and to face the boy who made my teen years hell. I'm no longer the vulnerable teenager I once was, and I'll guarantee you this: Chad won't have any power over me.
But all the mental preparation in the world couldn't possibly prepare me for the sight of the hot, gorgeous, and hunky rancher that Chad has become, nor the secret he's been waiting 10 long years to tell me.
Chad's got things to say. And I've got a score to settle.
Someone's poor little heart is about to get wrangled in a game it is sure to lose.
Contains mature themes.

It's overall just a plain book. The characters come across flat, the relationship isn't particularly divisive or charged, Lance gets over his past with Chad and you'd think there would be some interesting story with Chad's rival but nope, nothing comes of it.
The side characters are all just slightly different rendition of southern belle types, so they're basically indistinguishable from each other.
Also all anyone in this town seems to do is get drunk and party, that's about it in terms of world building for it.
The book also just doesn't end my god, it did not need to be ten hours long considering a good chunk of it is needless waffling - which look, I'm a romance lover, but I don't need every author soapboxing about how love is the key to life etc etc. I did just skip through the epilogue, and normally I'm dedicated to finishing a book start to finish.
A Book that Wouldn't End
