About this listen

In the mist-shrouded haze of the past, the world of Azeroth teemed with wondrous creatures of every kind. Mysterious Elves and hardy Dwarves walked among tribes of Man in relative peace and harmony - until the arrival of the demonic army known as the Burning Legion shattered the world's tranquility forever. Now Orcs, Dragons, Goblins, and Trolls all vie for supremacy over the scattered, warring kingdoms - part of a grand, malevolent scheme that will determine the fate of the world of Warcraft.

Slave. Gladiator. Shaman. Warchief. The enigmatic Orc known as Thrall has been all of these. Raised from infancy by cruel human masters who sought to mold him into their perfect pawn, Thrall was driven by both the savagery in his heart and the cunning of his upbringing to pursue a destiny he was only beginning to understand to break his bondage and rediscover the ancient traditions of his people. Now the tumultuous tale of his life's journey - a saga of honor, hatred, and hope - can at last be told....

I've been waiting for this book to appear on Audible for some time. My wife read the original (Christie Golden) book a fair few years back and couldn't sing its praises loud enough. Now I can say I really wasn't let down as Christie narrates her own classic about the genesis of one of Warcraft most important figures.

A unmissable part of Warcrafts lore

And it also brings with it many good life lessons and values, that one can take with him/her into day to day life. Really good story, that is not too "heavy", and can be enjoyed while working.

The story of the real Horde.

Now knowing the struggles of the Warchief, Thrall, the evolution of the character amaze me. I always had respect for the Warchief, but now, I can only think what a worthy leader the Horde has.

Excellent performance. I love Christie Golden and her talent to bring live to our loved protagonists of World of Warcraft.

A painful story of growing and discovery

I'm really impressed how Christie captured the characters on this book. Metzen helped a lot in that regard I would assume but that doesn't make Christie's job less magnificent. Her narration was also quite captivating.

Thrall is portrayed 100% like you've known him through the game.

You can't go wrong with this one guys. Christie Golden delivers.

Epic storytelling on its finest
