This has a very scary start, with a great story that follows and cleans it all up, this series is as brilliantly as the Mercy Thompson series which runs along side it. Read brilliantly again by Holter Graham. Please, please can we also have a Samuel series as we are missing what he is up to.

The novel has a good pace, plenty of twists and turns, with tantalising threads to be followed up in the next novel no doubt.

Patricia really upped her game with this one! This story is intense and rich. There are many new players and plenty of surprises, right up to the very end you are kept on the edge of your seat.

Personally I'm not a big fan of Bran's mate, but she has a very interesting backstory which this book covers. It depicts in more detail pieces of her personality we have been shown in previous books... that she is indeed tough as nails, ambitious and sometimes not very nice as a person, however her sense of duty and protecting her pack is always number #1 which makes her worthy of respect.

My favourite in the Alpha and Omega series so far, the ending provides a glimpse into the next book, I hope we don't have to wait too long for it!!!

As usual Patricia Briggs has provided another page-turner. A must read for anyone who enjoys the mercyverse.

Unfortunately the narrative lets it down when it comes to Bran, he sounds Irish/Scottish sometimes not even remotely Welsh, and as a Welsh native myself I find this very disappointing.

I love Patricia Briggs books this story was so good that I had to finish it over two days it’s a can’t put down listen.

Although this is another Charles and Anna story, it is Leah and her story which steals the show. Will I ever like her, I'm not sure but a lot more understanding of her. Narration is fairly good excepting for Bran who sounds too gravelly and Irish at times. Although most things are wrapped up at the end there are a few longterm teasers and the one which is bugging me is , who is Sherwood Post? looking forward to the next in the series already.

I honestly cannot remember the last time I got into and enjoyed a series so much. This, along with the Mercy Thompson series, has been a fantastic read. I highly recommend both of the series.
My one criticism, and it does seem very picky but it bugs me to no end, is that I wish someone would tell Holter Graham to stop reading Bran with a bass voice and a slight Irish accent. We hear several times in the books that Bran has a tenor voice and his being Welsh is referred to pretty frequently. Therefore, I cannot understand the voice chosen for this character. If you can't do the accent required, then just don't do one. I'd rather the narrator make the voice slightly more generic than read the character as someone he clearly isn't.
Other than that, I think that both this and the MT series are fabulously narrated and I cannot recommend these books high enough.

One of my favourite of the series - lots of new background info that really fleshes out these characters and an original plot line.
Honestly the only disappointment for me as a Welshwoman was to hear Bran and Samuel speaking in IRISH accents. One of the things I love about Bran’s backstory is the Welsh history and legends that are referenced in the books. The accent was not remotely Welsh and I struggled to understand the spoken Welsh despite being a fluent speaker. It made me cringe and somewhat spoil each scene Bran was in for me. Probably like someone reading out an Indiana Jones or Captain America story in a Canadian accent. Jarring.
Otherwise the story itself was brilliant.
