Als Begründer der Lach- und Schießgesellschaft und jahrzehntelanger Kopf der Sendung "Scheibenwischer" hat Dieter Hildebrandt Zensur und politische Einflussnahme ebenso erlebt wie Peter Ensikat als der meistgespielte Kabarettautor in der DDR. Auf ihren Reisen in den jeweils anderen Teil Deutschlands konnten beide erfahren, wie das Publikum auf Witze made in West bzw. East Germany reagierte. Und die Frage, ob Franz Josef Strauß besser zu karikieren war als Walter Ulbricht, ist auch noch ungeklärt.
