Amazing book by Dr. Jessica, I’ve attended few of your sessions about the book. My only critic is that the book is heavy with numbers and stats which is good as it’s a research but it makes the book very dry and emotional-less. Overall amazing book, thank you very much for sharing your work with us.

This was the second of Dr Jessica Taylors book I read after enjoying her 'Sexy but Psycho'. Once you read these books you will never again accept without question the misogynistic narrative against women which is so prevalent in our world. The complexities of victim blaming are clearly explained and articulated. I would highly recommend this book and have already gifted to friends. The author truly wants to help and empower women through real change.

I purchased this book because the title intrigued me. What I heard was a patriarchal misogynistic society, built historically from biblical times to modern day that does everything but blame itself. As a victim of childhood and adult sexual abuse, I saw similarity with the information as to how I had blamed myself for my abuse.
I agree that it's time society all over the world stops treating women as submissive, dainty, toys that are there only for male pleasure.
The fact that sexual abuse starts in school with girls being programmed to be submissive, quiet, pretty and baby machines needs to stop. We are human beings, with our own thoughts and minds.
If anything this book should be made statutory reading for all teacher, doctors, social workers and judges. Women should not be made to blame themselves, the tide needs to turn on the actual abuser's (mostly men) and our laws need changing.
I hope more women read this amazing insight in to a world rarely discussed.

Dr Jessica Taylor is a SHERO when it comes to highlighting the hidden and ignored pandemic that is male violence. She talks from personal and professional experience and it is clear how passionate she is for educating the world about the abuse women and girls suffer from men. She demonstrates well how women and girls are blamed for male violence by friends, family and the systems around them. This is not just a feminist issue, it's an issue we all need to acknowledge, admit and work hard to end. Thanks Dr Jessica Taylor!

An essential read (or listen)!

I had high hopes for this book as I felt I shared a lot of views as the author.
However the book is hugely repetitive and droning. Also the authors unwavering opinion of no woman could commit domestic abuse is harmful and damaging to all victims and perpetuates the myths that feminists hate men.

the author is not skilled in written communication. it is alarming how she failed to ethically obtain consent for a story in this book. She has harassed and bullied said person. I would not recommend this poorly researched book. It was a waste of my money
